Get Sketchy! Too late!

I don`t know the deadline, I hope I am in time! Here is my take on the first Get Sketchy sketch:
It wasn`t in time... But it is another card to mail to a friend this week! I`ll submit it for Hero Arts!!

Everything, except for the ink, is Hero Arts! Used a score board to create the frame. The butterfly is colored with the blending technique Jennifer McGuire taught us in her Thinking Inking class. I used Ranger distress inks for that. Have a beautiful day!

Vanessa

*** Giveaway is closed now! ***

Hello! I have a first humble giveaway! I am doing this DCWV Far East paper no justice, maybe you would like them? They are 12" x 12" and quite heavy. One winner will receive those 14 sheets.

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post by Sunday, 23rd. You don`t have to become a follower or anything, but I would love to know where you come from (the country you live in), so if you`d like to share that with me I would be happy (I am so interested in who visits my blog!). This giveaway is open to anybody from all over the world! I will draw the winner on Monday! Good luck!

Card Patterns - Sketch # 28

One more simple card... Here is this week`s Card Patterns sketch:

And my take on it:

Stamp, notecard and gems are Hero Arts, patterned paper and button are Papertrey Ink. The image is colored with pencils.

Happy day to you!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Very simple cards...

A new week, a new Hero Arts challenge! The theme is "Mail it!" which is a wonderful idea! Who would not love to receive a card... I hope that I got the challenge right, because Sally said something about 30 min... I understood that the cards should be quick and simple, so I created those:

This is for my Flickr-friend Monika who will visit her family in Indonesia on Saturday and will stay till January. And another simple card for my Mum, who made another delicious lunch for us last Sunday:

All stamps and notecards are Hero Arts, the patterned paper is Papertrey Ink. I used pencils to color my images. Both cards are stamped with Versamark on the backround, but the photo does not really show...

Strange for me to create these, I am so into the shabby at the moment! But it is way too hot to do anything complicated...

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Hybrid card

I am back with one last card using Shari Carroll`s sketches:

This is the first time I included something from a digital set, using the free Hero Arts Stone Etchings set. All stamps and the pearls are Hero Arts, too. I used Ranger perfect pearls on the butterfly and distress inks on the rest of the card. Unfortunately I can`t remember where the flowers are from...

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful Sunday!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Blog award

Lovely Alice gave me this blog award:

I am so honoured that she loves my style, she creates wonderful stuff and is winning most of the Hero Arts challenges! Go and check her blog!

The award is called the "Eye Like Your Style" award from Janis at Pause, Dream, Enjoy. One of her talented daughters created this beautiful art and Janis turned it into this meaningful award for blogs that she likes.

Here are the rules:

1. By accepting this award you recognize that the giver "LIKES YOUR STYLE."

2. You agree to display this award proudly on your site, and include a post linking back to the giver.

3. And because there are so many blogs out there which you like their style, you will share this award with them... however many that may be.

This time I would like to give the award to:

I love your style, ladies!! Please visit their blogs and leave some love for their amazing work!

Have a great Sunday!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Another winter card...

And another winter card! I used the CPS sketch this time! And I want to submit it for caardvarks, too. Yep, another shabby chic one, I love playing with my distress inks:

The stitching with the pearls was inspired by the adorable Nichole Heady who did something similar with gems. The textpaper is from an old play, I bought this cheaply from an antique book store. I used Hero Arts stamps and Stampers Anonymous, the pearls are Hero Arts, too. The snowflakes are glittered with Ranger stickles, the patterned paper is Basic Grey. I used Ranger distress ink broken china and walnut stain.

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful weekend!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Snow white card...three posts on a day!!!

Unbelievable, my third post today! I found another excuse to create a white on white card! Caardvarks` winterwonderland challenge! So here it is, a take on Shari Carroll`s sketch again:

Details:

I used Hero Arts stamps for the sentiment and the backround. The snowflake stamp is Kars. I put Ranger stickles onto my snowflakes to make them more frosty. I hope you can feel the chilly winterbreeze coming from this card!

Enjoy and have a lovely day!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Papertrey Ink - some stuff I created

Well, here I am again... back with a second post for today. I wanted to share some Papertrey Ink creations... Love my new stamps and had to ink them! Here is a card created with On my couch (additions):

I chose the main On my couch - set for my winning of last month`s guest star stamper, but it`s not here yet. But the additions set is fab already! And I am the proud owner of the Fancy flourishes set now... you´ll see tons of creations with it in the future! Here is one card:

I stamped the flourish with watermisted distress inks. I have never been a "pink" girl, but I find myself using it very often recently...
Here is a shopping bag I made for my mother in law`s birthday. I used my cuttlebug to die cut the felt flowers and sew them with the buttons onto the bag. The flourishes are stamped with permanent ink and then colored with fabric markers.

Sorry for the bad last picture, it was difficult to find a good way to take the photo. I created some more things and will share them soon!

Thanks again for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Shabby chic

I love the techniques with distress inks and now I can`t stop making shabby chic cards (haha, I always write "chick" when I type this). Again I used one of Shari Carroll`s beautiful sketches for this week`s challenge at the Hero Arts blog.

The grid pattern stamp and the sentiment are Hero Arts, the splatters and the subtle flowers are Stampers Anonymous. I used Ranger distress ink worn lipstick. The pearls are Hero Arts as well, the button is Papertrey Ink. (love love love my buttons!) Oh, and I put a bit of perfect pearls onto the sentiment, I think it was plum. This grid pattern stamp is so versatile, I love to use it a lot!

Thank you for visiting my blog and have a great day!

Hugs,
Vanessa
(anyone counting how often I use "love"??)

86 F.... but walking in a winterwonderland...

It`s summer still... but I am creating christmas cards! I never did that before, but it is fun! Hero Arts is sponsoring caardvarks with a winterthemed challenge this time and Shari created some wonderful sketches for the Hero Arts blog challenge this week. I combined both challenges here:

The next card is for caardvarks only. I do not have Hero Arts christmas stamps yet, but love the sneak peeks! I created my own snowman here:

Had to use the squirrel again, it is so cute! All stamps are Hero Arts, except for the snowflakes. The patterned paper of the first card is Basic Grey, the vellum and the button are PTI.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Vanessa
