Have to convince my husband as soon as he comes home from work....hehe, before we met he never ate so many sweets - he is always complaining about that :) But I need sweets! Do you know Hammy from "Over the hedge"? But I want the cookie !! That`s me...

Caardvarks Sketchfest #2

My card for Caardvarks` Sketchfest`s Monday sketch:

I hope that I`ll never need one, but I thought this would be a proper sympathy card. The sketch reminded me of this, I don`t know why, maybe because of the edge in the right corner? I never created a sympathy card before, it`s really difficult!

The stamp on the background and the pearls are Hero Arts, the boarder stamp is Fontwerks by Karen Russell, the other stamps are Stampers Anonymous by Tim Holtz.

Have a happy Monday everybody!

Hugs,
Vanessa

I have learned so much from the Hero Arts` flickr group, I owe them everything! Before I joined the group in April, I haven`t been a stamper.... This week`s challenge is all about what we have learned and here are two cards for the challenge, using digital elements and distressing:

All the stamps, digital elements and pearls are Hero Arts, buttons are Papertrey Ink, the dotted paper is BoBunny, the butterfly punch is Martha Stewart. It is so much fun working with some digital elements, I never thought I`d do this one day! Hybrid is perfect for me.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting!

Papertrey Ink fall cards

Wow, I just finished my wishlist for my Papertrey Ink shopping! I made myself not to buy every month because of the shipping and taxes.... But this month I will order again!! Can`t wait to get all the wonderful stuff. I wish it would be easier! Sigh. Now to the more interesting things...here are two cards I made for the Papertrey Ink September Guest Star Stamper challenge:

I do not have any fall-themed stamps, so I had to improvise! The leaves and the flower are both from the In Bloom set, the "graditude" is from the Beautiful Blooms set and the second sentiment is from the Damask Designs set. Coloring the flower is so much fun! I used my colored pencils again, adding color after color after color :) Then blending and adding more color....
I hope you enjoy!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Digital Flower

I finally bought some Hero Arts digital kits, because there are some gorgeous images available now. I had a great time coloring the flower this morning! I used a fall color palette from the Hero Arts challenge this week:

Stamp and image are Hero Arts, button is Papertrey Ink. I had to stop myself from adding more and more color! Can`t wait to color some butterflies from another kit...

Have a beautiful day!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Happy Birthday Jacqueline!!!

Today is the birthday of a very talented and kind lady: Jacqueline. Her creations are always gorgeous and she is the one who inspired me most in the process of finding my favourite style. Here is the card I made for her, using this week`s Card Patterns sketch, because she loves the grid...

I hope my present arrived in time, mail is so slow in Europe! The paper is Basic Grey, the button is Papertrey Ink, the stamps and pearls are Hero Arts, the felt heart is a die cut from my cuttlebug.

I hope your day is wonderful!!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Weddingcard - caardvarks

We are invited to a wedding on Saturday and I needed a card. Love creating wedding cards! I used caardvarks` sketch # 2 for this one:

I used Hero Arts stamps for the background (old letter writing and polka dots), the flourish stamp is Papertrey Ink. I created the flower using my Cuttlebug and some tissue paper, then inked everything with Ranger distress inks. The sentiment says "Congratulations".

Hope you had/have such a wonderful and sunny day like me! I was outside with my girl all the time, practicing how to go down stairs and driving Bobbycar. And when my husband came home from work we fetched some ice-cream from the ice-cream parlor - yumm!

Hugs,
Vanessa

A broken promise :)

Ok, I made another card for the Moxie Fab World Christmas challenge.... I did like Maren Benedict`s snowflake card, here is my take for the Stamping challenge:

The snowflake die cuts are made with my cuttlebug. After I finished stamping and adhering the snowflakes, I spritzed the whole card with Perfect Pearls (perfect pearls) mist for an icy shine.
Have a beautiful Sunday!

Vanessa

A passion for Papertrey - Clean and Simple

A card for the A passion for Papertrey "clean & simple" challenge. I was very much inspired by Aimes!

The damask design stamp was inked with Ranger distress inks and spritzed with Perfect Pearls mist before I stamped the image. So so simple! I need some mass-produce-able cards for my mother in law and my mum and this is perfect for the purpose!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Men

Hrgh, hrgh hrgh - more power!! It`s all about men this week at the Hero Arts blog! So much fun, they even made some men create cards! And there is a winning category for a card made by a man of our life, too! So I asked my husband to participate and create a card and he did it! First, two masculine cards I made:

Aaand, drummroll - my husband`s card!!

I am so proud, he chose to try so many techniques like heat embossing, distressing and even machine stitching!! He did that all alone and only asked for advice sometimes. Here is a photo showing evidence:

Yep, that`s a pink heatgun pointing at his motörhead shirt :) Smooch!

Have a great day and thank you for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

A card for Kate

Jennifer McGuire is having a card drive called

5 year old Kate was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Please read everything about her on Jennifer`s blog. Here is sweet little Kate:

To encourage her, I created this little card, because I hope the cute owl is something a little girl would like:

I am still not sure what to write inside the card for Kate, it is a bit difficult for me to find the right words in English. I hope the little owl cheers her up a bit!

Have a great day and be thankful for all the wonderful moments you are allowed to spend with your beloved ones!

Hugs,
Vanessa
