Tuesday Trigger - Time to Relax!

My entry for this week`s Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger is not a card, but a box. The Trigger is a cute little pillow and reminded me instantly of having a cosy time on the couch:

I was inspired by the colours and the fact that it`s a pillow. This little box contains some cosy socks, a little scented candle and some hot chocolate for someone special. I used felt to make the box look "cosier". Everything is Papertrey Ink.

To everybody who is celebrating : HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Thanks for visiting, have a wonderful weekend!

Vanessa

Plum Crazy - Moxie Fab Challenge

I had to start a plum card instantly! Cath is hosting another stylish Moxie Fab World Challenge called "Plum Crazy" and inspired me with wonderful pics again! Pluminess all over! Go and play, get inspired, look at the fabulous submissions, have fun! No need to hurry though, the deadline is November 18 - but I couldn`t stop myself :)
I love to combine plum with grey:

This gorgeous Hero Arts brocade stamp is so elegant, I love it!! I used the background technique Jennifer McGuire taught over at 2peas. The inks are Ranger, the other stamps are Papertrey Ink and the flowers and pearls are Prima Marketing. Those beautiful flourishes in the corners are Melissa Frances - they arrived just in time!

I might try a plum christmas card...

Have a great Friday and thank you for visiting and for all your sweet comments!

Hugs,
Vanessa

A tall card

Finally the light is acceptable to take a photo of my entry for Caardvarks` "A Tall Order" challenge! Love this challenge, you have til Friday to enter, be sure to check the fabulous submissions! I needed a card for a family that moved into a new house, so I "built" one:

I didn`t have a "sweet" stamp and had to include some handwriting... that`s always tricky, but I managed it, using a tag - in case I messed it up I just would have taken a new tag :)
Everything I used is Papertrey Ink, except for the Hero Arts clouds stamp, the Melissa Frances keyhole, the American Crafts patterned paper and the Creative Imaginations patterned paper.

Hope to be able to make another "tall" card!

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Wednesday!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Tuesday Trigger - Can you feel the summer breeze?

I felt a light summer breeze today thanks to Cath and Kim Kesti.... There`s a new challenge over at Moxie Fab World called "Tuesday Trigger". Kim was inspired for a card by a wonderful summery wedding themed trigger and inspired me, too:

For the first card I was inspired by the trigger theme (wedding), by the summery colours, the pattern and colours of the tie and the pattern of the trigger itself. For the second card I was inspired by the cute bow on the shoes and the flowers on the cake. I wanted to create a breezy card, capturing the summery light feeling of the trigger.

Supplies: cardstock, stamps (Papertrey Ink) patterned paper (American Crafts, BoBunny, Papertrey Ink), rub-on (Creative Imaginations), pearls (Hero Arts)

Have a wonderful Saturday and thanks for visiting today!

Hugs,
Vanessa

My little fashionista

Today I tried to scrapbook another photo of my daughter - I wish I could do that better! Well, I guess I am a cardmaker :) I combined different challenges here. It`s another ruffles creation for the fabulous Moxie Fab World "Not your regular ruffles" Challenge, I stamped onto chipboard like it is shown this week at 2Peas` Fall Stamp Camp and I tore some paper for the Hero Arts Challenge " Paper tearing".

For this layout I was very much inspired by my sweet friend Kelley - the third card of this post is extremely adorable and I am sure it`ll be picked by Paige for the spotlight on the CARDS blog again! Smooches to you, Kelley!
I used Jenni Bowlin (ticket and notepaper), Hero Arts (stamps and pearls), Papertrey Ink (buttons), Heidi Swapp (heart), Making Memories (chipboard letter), MyMindsEye (brad), Prima (flower), Ranger (inks).

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by today!

Not Your Regular Ruffles - Moxie Fab World Challenge

Baby, Celebrate with style! This is one card for the Moxie Fab World Challenge "Not your Regular Ruffles". Another FABulous Challenge! Be sure to hop over and check it out - so much fun! Cath inspired me with so many gorgeous pics of hot creations from the runway, I had to create something that reminded me of that:

This is some wide ribbon I had in my stash and I never knew what to do with it. Now I sewed along both edges with wide stitches and ruffled it. I am not sure if that`s a bit too thick for a card, but I wanted it to look luxurious. The button and the stamp in the corners are Papertrey Ink, the chandelier stamp is Heidi Swapp, the pearls are Prima, the sentiment is Hero Arts.

Have a fabulous Monday and thanks for visiting today!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Noel

Happy Sunday everybody! Well, mine is almost over! The cold weather gives me the right mood to create some christmas cards and here is one I created today:

I made this for this week`s Cardpatterns sketch and for the Hero Arts "Holiday Accessory" challenge. The brocade stamp is Hero Arts, the paper and the brad are MyMindsEye, the scallop circle is from a notebook - I am not sure about the brand! The letters are my very first Thickers - love them! They are covered with fabric, it`s great to have a lot of texture on cards!

Ok, off to huddle up against my husband and watch some TV! Have a lovely Sunday and thank you for stopping by!

Hugs,
Vanessa

CPS Sketch # 137

Hi! This is my take on CPS Sketch #137. It was the first time I used chipboard letters, so much fun to alter them and sand them!

Would this card be ok for a little boy? I thought I might send it to Eric. Read more about the card drive here.

The patterned papers are October Afternoon, BoBunny and MyMindsEye. The buttons, the cardstock and the dots stamp are Papertrey Ink, the chipboard letters are Making Memories.

We had the first snow yesterday!! One week ago we had 26 C°/79 F and were eating ice-cream, today it`s -5 C°/23 F and snowing! I`d like to have some fall first...
My little one already chose her winter outfit - Mommy`s cap and a summery t-shirt :)

Sorry for the mess in the background, she loves to pull the old paper out of the paper bin...

Have a beautiful Thursday!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Papertrey Ink October Guest Star Stamper Challenge

I am back with my Papertrey Ink October Guest Star Stamper submissions. The first one is a christmas card using a non-traditional colour combo: Pure Poppy, Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz and Spring Moss. The tree and sentiment are from the set called "Tree Trimming Trio" (try to say that three times!) I wasn`t sure if it is "clean and simple" enough to be submitted for this category!

The second card is my entry for the category "Best use of previous set". The idea of a delicate flower using the "In Bloom" set was in my head for some time, but I wasn`t sure how to realize my idea in a satisfying way. Here is what I made out of it finally:

My original idea was to create an ice-flower, so I ended up using cold colours: Aqua Mist, Spring Rain, Ocean Tides. The flower is stamped onto Vellum, the frame is from my new favourite set "Vintage Labels". The sentiment is a bit shiny because I used some Perfect Pearls on it, but it`s not showing on the photo.

Thank you for stopping by and have a fabulous Wednesday!!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Get Sketchy sketch #9 + A Passion for Papertrey

Here is another card for Get Sketchy and I am also submitting it for A Passion for Papertrey, because it is inspired by autumn and I used some PTI.

I used some October Afternoon paper, Hero Arts gems and sentiment, Papertrey Ink button, cardstock and grid paper.

I`ll be back with my submissions for the Papertrey Ink October Guest Star Stamper Challenge!

Hugs,
Vanessa

The ribbon rose

Welcome and happy Sunday to you! I am back with another card for the Caardvarks "Take a Bow" Challenge. This time I created a little rose out of ribbon:

The paper, sentiment and button are Papertrey Ink, the flourish is from a digi kit called "Sweet Pea brush kit by Rhonna Farrer" (available at 2Peas).

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thank you for visiting!

An old china butterfly...

I am really pleased how this butterfly turned out! I wanted to achieve a look of old china and in my opinion it worked! Here is my paperpieced and crackled card:

The Ranger Rock Candy crackle paint lifted some of the paper pieces but I like the effect... This card is for the Hero Arts "paper piecing" Challenge and the Moxie Fab World "Gradient is radiant" Challenge. I used several digital kits here, the "Winged Friends" and "WORD ART-dictionary page" kits are Hero Arts, the flourishes are a kit named "MaryAnnWise Flourish Corners" (everything available at 2Peas). The stamps are Hero Arts, too. The button, ribbon and Kraft cardstock are Papertrey Ink, the patterned paper is My Minds Eye. The pearls are Prima Marketing.

Want to win a Hero Arts stamps set? There`s a little interview with me over at S.C.A.T.! Hop over to their blog and leave a comment to win!

Have a fun Friday and thank you for stopping by!

Vanessa

My very first Halloween cards!

BOO! Here are my first ever Halloween cards! I`ll submit them for the Caardvarks "Take a bow" challenge and the Paper Crafts October gallery challenge and the second one is for the Hero Arts "paper piecing" challenge, too. Wow, so many challenges! For the first card I used my Nestabilities, some felt and some fun ribbon to create this hairy spider:

For my second card I used Papertrey Ink paper/cardstock/button and the Hero Arts digi kits "Jack-o-Lanterns" and " WORD ART - dictionary page" and some fun ribbon. The sentiment is computer generated using a free font called "Destroyed". I paper pieced the pumpkin with Papertrey Ink paper and BoBunny paper. Fun technique!

I hope you enjoy my spooky cards! Have a fun Thursday and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Banner card

The first card I`d like to share today is a banner card I created for the challenge on the cards blog:

Everything I used is Papertrey Ink, except for the punches, floss and ink. The butterfly punch is Martha Stewart, but I am sorry I can`t remember the heart punch! Ink is Ranger.

I`ll be back later to share my very first Halloween cards! Fun fun!

Vanessa

Papertrey Ink WCMD Challenge: India

The last entry for the Papertrey Ink WCMD Challenge...and here comes India:

The combination of pink and orange is what comes into my mind first when thinking of India. Then I found these beads and the little golden flower and thought it would be perfect for this theme. The cardstock and stamps are Papertrey Ink, the gems are Prima.

Thanks for visiting today and have a great start into this week!

Papertrey Ink WCMD Challenge: Mexico

I struggled with Mexico, but I didn`t give up! Here is my entry for the Papertrey Ink WCMD Challenge, inspired by Mexico (RrARrARrA):

I thought the colours, the tiles and the zigzag pattern are quite mexican. Everything except for the Ink and the turquoise paper is Papertrey Ink.

I`ll be back with India!

Happy Monday!

Vanessa

Another card for Papertrey Ink`s WCMD Challenge. The next theme I used is Australia:

I stamped the white dots onto the leaves first, but then went over each dot with a white gel pen. Everything but the flowers and inks is Papertrey Ink.

I am still struggling with India and Mexico.... but I won`t give up :)

Vanessa

Papertrey Ink WCMD Challenge #1: Japan

I love to take part in "challenging" challenges and Nichole Heady is hosting 4 fabulous challenges in honour of the World Card Making Day. The first one is themed "Japan". I tried to stamp something asian inspired first, but after throwing away three feeble attempts I decided to go with this lovely patterned paper :)

The asian paper is DCWV, the ink is Ranger, the pearls are Hero Arts, everything else is Papertrey Ink.

Off to work on Australia!! Happy Sunday and thanks for visiting!

Vanessa

HAPPY WORLD CARD MAKING DAY!!!

Welcome on this special day! I hope you enjoy celebrating this wonderful holiday! Here is a card I created today, combining this week`s CPS sketch #135 and the great new "everything but the kitchen sink challenge":

I used tissue paper from my Papertrey Ink mail (the stamps were wrapped into it) to create that flower. All stamps, the button, the ribbon and the babyblue polka dot paper are Papertrey Ink, the brown paper is BoBunny and the paper of my label is Creative Imaginations, the gems are Prima.

I am so excited and honoured to be a featured artist over at caardvarks today, together with some really talented friends! So happy about that!

Happy celebrating everybody and thank you for visiting today!

Blog awards

I received several blog awards from dear friends over the last few weeks. First, "The Circle of Friends Award" from fabulous Kelley. She is such a lovely and dear person, I am so happy to have found her!

I`d love to give this award to following friends:

The next award is from wonderful Sally:

There are some little rules attached after you receive the award and these are:
To link back to the person who gave you the award, then list five things you like spending your time on. You then get the chance to pass the award to five people who inspire and support your creativity. This can either be through sharing their amazing work or by leaving kind comments on your blog.

Here are my five things:

1. Playing, reading and laughing with my 1 year old daughter
2. Photographing or videotaping her
3. Making cards during her naptimes
4. Do some bloghopping and commenting while sipping my morning coffee
5. Hugging and cuddling my husband in the evenings

This award goes to:

And finally, the MeMe Award from lovely Dawn:

Here I have to divulge 7 secrets about myself and pass this award on to 7 others. Secrets!? I am really boring! But let`s see... some things are only things about me. Here we go:

1. I can`t do a single day without sweets
2. I have never been really drunk and before I was about 23 I never even drank any alcohol
3. I never tried a cigarette or any drugs
4. I don`t want to drink out of a water bottle if it`s open longer than one day
5. Some freak stalked me for 3 years and the police didn`t do anything against it - sometimes I slept with a knife under my pillow
6. I am Vegetarian - I could start crying when I see a hurt animal and can`t get the pictures out of my head
7. I am always afraid that something happens to my daughter in the nights, I would love to have a camera in her room to watch her sleep!

Now that I started I could add some more strange things about me! Ok, this award goes to:

Thanks for all the awards, it was fun to think about secrets! There are so many wonderful and interesting ladies here, be sure to leave some love for them :) I hope I did not forget anyone, it is always difficult to chose! I hope you have fun with your awards...

I`ll be back with two card-posts later!

Hugs,
Vanessa
