Holiday Thinking Inking Week 4

Happy Thursday! Here comes my card for week 4 of the Holiday Thinking Inking Class and another entry to the Hero Arts October Challenge! I had some fun with acrylic paint and embossing powder:

I have some pearlescent acrylic paints in my stash, but never did them any justice. Now I tried stamping with them and love the result!! Here I used a blue one to stamp the brocade onto the dark background. For the sentiment and the edges I used gold embossing powder for a nice contrast. Hope you like it!

Have a fabulous day and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

My vintage items are the buttons and the lace. Here is a close-up of the flower:

And here a close-up of the scalloped border:

Now, a card! I loved this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch again, I had to play:

That yummy paper is from the Restoration Collection from Crate Paper. Love this! It is at risk to be hoarded by me, so I decided to cut right into it! And punch out butterflies! Ouch.

Paper Crafts November/December Pubs

Happy Weekend! Today I am sharing one of the cards that were published in the Paper Crafts November/December issue. Another beautiful magazine full of fab inspiration! This is a card that only made it an Online Bonus project, but I loved it:

A little disappointing to have three of four cards in the Online Feature only, but still glad to be published :) Oh, and am I famous now?? *gg* Susan Opel had asked me a while back if they were allowed to publish my jumping-for-joy-trampoline-photo and if I would mind writing a few lines about how I started submitting to Paper Crafts. Strange to see myself in a magazine! You'll find the issue here and the free Online Bonus Projects here.

Thanks for your sweet comments about my little one! She is better today after she had fever yesterday and was very weak. But nothing is stopping her today, she is her old little self again!

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Holiday Thinking Inking Week 3

Happy Friday my friends! I made another card for the Holiday Thinking Inking Class and this month's Hero Arts Challenge:

This is a giftcard/cocoa/chocolate/ticket Holder. The trees are stamped with Versamark onto patterned paper, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and then inked with Distress Ink. Then I stamped the Music Background over them. I wanted to have a larger label to mat the stamped piece and just traced around the largest die, then cut it out. Here is the inside of the card:
I just couldn't get a better photo of the inside. Sorry!

Ok, off to try and get some cleaning done. My sweet little girl suffers from an ear infection and while she is awake she wants to snuggle a lot (not that I am complaining about that part, I am enjoying the snuggling).

Have a happy day!! Thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Waltzingmouse Sketch #19

Happy Thursday! I finally managed to make a card for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! The sketches are so fun! This is this week's sketch:

And here is my take:

I started with this gorgeous ribbon on the bottom. I found this in our drugstore while buying diapers! So I created my card around it. The PTI Damask Design set coordinated perfectly. I stamped the damask with Versamark to create the background. The sentiment is from PTI's Giga Guidelines set. And to make everything more glamorous and dramatic I added this swirly pearl thing from ZVA Creative. I've never ever used more pearls on one card!

Have a beautiful day everybody and thanks for visiting!!

Vanessa

Diaper Cake

Happy Tuesday! Today I am sharing a little gift set I made for a sweet friend who just got her second baby some days ago. I made a diaper cake for the first time and it's really fun! Here it is:

I used Hero Arts stamp sets Precious Baby Boy, Curly Alphabet and Happy Animals for this. The gift bag contains things for the Mom like Relaxing Tea, Scented Candle, Chocolate etc.

Have a fun day everybody and thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Cookie Treat Bags

Happy Monday! Just quickly sharing a little project I made some days ago with the help of my two-year-old. We baked cookies and she wanted to give some to her Kindergarten teachers. So we created these little bags:

Those leaves were stamped by her, I just inked up the stamps (Hero Arts "Leaf Prints") for her. I then trimmed the cardstock, spritzed it with some Tattered Angels glimmer mist and matted it with the scalloped cardstock, then adhered it to the glassine bag. The felt leaves were cut using PTI's Leaf Prints dies. I thought it would be a nice autumnal detail to add the burlap.

Here is my little angel sitting on her favorite spot in the kitchen and helping with the cookies:

She is so easy to work with, not trying to eat some dough or anything :)

Ok, I am off trying to ease the pain in my back. Have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting!!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Another take on Kazan's sketch

Happy Friday! I couldn`t resist creating another card using Kazan's sketch...

...having some fun playing with patterned paper:

That yummy doily is from a cutting file I got at The Digichick. All papers are October Afternoon, except for the yellow one which is from Crate Paper. I thought I'd create a little body for the butterfly. Let me know if you are interested in a tutorial!

Thanks for visiting and have a happy day!

2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan`s Sketch #63

Happy Wednesday! Time for a new sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You. And they still need two new Design Team members. Another chance! Here is Kazan's beautiful sketch #63:

And here is my take on it:

I thought of my beloved Hero Arts Starburst stamp when I saw this sketch. Because it is quite large, I decided to make a square card. The Starburst is stamped with Antique Linen, Tea Dye and Walnut Stain Distress Ink, then cut out and layered. That background text is PTI. And these yummy pearl flourishes? I love these! I finally got me some ZVA Creative bling (not easy to get in Germany and the ones selling these know this looking at what they claim for these!). The pearls were cream, but I colored them with a light brown Copic. And they are easy to peel off and place where you want them! I thought it would be difficult, but no problems.

Ok, now I have a photo to share. It makes me happy! Yesterday I told you that I had to scrape off the ice from the windows of my car and today it was even worse! But look what I found in my garden:

When I planted my sweet peas it was very cold and rainy and it took them forever to grow. Obviously they grew now and it seems they don't care that much about the cold weather :) I wish you could smell them - delicious!

Sending sunshine your way! Thanks for visiting!

Holiday Cards & More + Holiday Thinking Inking

Happy Tuesday! Today I am back with some Christmas creations. First is a cute little tag that was published in the Paper Crafts Holiday Cards & More, Volume 5. A MUST-HAVE-MAGAZINE! So many fab projects for Christmas! I can't stop looking through that mag for inspiration! Here is one of my projects:

This little gingerbreadman tag is very versatile, you can embellish it like you would do with christmas cookies! You'll find the free pattern for it here, as well as another pattern for a gift bag I made. The poinsettia gift bag was featured here.

Now to a card. Jennifer McGuire is back at 2Peas with another Thinking Inking Class!! Yay! I made a card for the first week:

This is a hybrid card, the holly is from a Hero Arts digi kit called "Season's Greetings Collage". I inked the holly quickly with distress inks, stamped the "Old Letter Writing" over it and cut it out (not so quickly). On the background I stamped the "Music Background" (I so so love it and thanks to a sweet sweet friend I own it now!). The sentiment is from another Hero Arts set called "Merry Christmas". The gems are Prima Marketing. Can't wait to try the new techniques Jennifer shows us this week! Oh and I'll enter this card to this month's Hero Arts challenge "Holiday Cardmaking".

I had to free the windows of my car from ICE this morning!!! Can't believe it's that cold already! But we still have beautiful sunshine. Love the light this time of the year! My little one is enjoying her sandpit and her Mom is enjoying every sandcake she bakes. Raspberry and Chocolate. And sometimes Cherry Cake :) With whipped cream. Love listening to her sweet voice while she is "baking" singing "Backe backe Kuuchen...". It's melting my heart everytime.

Have a sunny day and thanks for visiting, sweet friends!

Hugs,
Vanessa

CARDS September Publications

Happy Sunday! I almost forgot to share my cards that were published in the CARDS September Issue. Here they are:

On the first one I used the cute tree from Unity's February KOM "...nothing but blue skies", some Tattered Angels chipboard letters and Making Memories Mini Alphas. Oh, and some autumnal felt for a bit of coziness. Did you know you get a free set of your choice and 25 $ for a publication using Unity? So generous and sweet of Angela! You'll find everything about it over at Splitcoaststampers.

On the second card I used October Afternoon stickers and Making Memories Tiny Alphas. The pencil is movable. No great photos here, I forgot to take better ones and the cards aren't back yet!

Ok, I hope you are all having a great Sunday! We are enjoying some sunshine, although it is very very cold in the nights. Thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

My Mom's Birthday Card

Happy Friday! Yesterday was my mother's birthday and I made her a card using Laura's beautiful sketch:

The winner of Card of the Week will win a spot on the Design Team of 2 Sketches 4 You! Ha, why not try? Here is my take:

I wanted to create something cosy autumnal. The gift for my Mom included some tea, so I had an excuse to use my favorite little stamp set, PTI's "Tea for Two" and the additions set again :) That paper is Pink Paislee. Here is a close-up of the little tag:

After creating a lot of CAS cards recently, I had a so much fun layering, inking and stitching here!

I hope you are all well! Thanks so much for visiting and have a fab day everybody!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Tiffany Doodles October Challenge - Fall

Happy Thursday! Already?? I somehow lost track of time. Here comes a new Tiffany Doodles Challenge! This month's theme is fall. And here is my take:

I used the Flower & Mushrooms digistamp, printed it onto Kraft cardstock and colored it with pencils. I thought the mushrooms look autumnal. I really hope you'll join us this month for your chance to win up to 7 digis!!

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day!

Vanessa

Last Day of the Pairing Challenge with Deborah

Happy Friday! Today is the last day of the Pairing Up Challenge with the amazing Deborah Nolan, creating cards for Jennifer's Cards for Kids Drive.

My mojo abandoned me today! I wanted to create something special, exciting, clever, cute - but NOPE, it did not work! And I was soo tired. I made this card some days ago and wasn't satisfied with it. Too simple, too un-special. But before sharing nothing today, I thought I'd share it. Meet today's card:

It's another card for a little boy using the Monster Fun set again. I thought this embossed background would look cute with it.

Ok, now go and look at a fab card, I know you won't be disappointed by Deborah's adorable creation!

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day!!

Hugs,
Vanessa
