Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge

Happy Friday! Today is another day to be inspired by the:

Here is this month's challenge:

Sensational Scallops!

This month we decided to dedicate the Blog Hop to scallops! We want to see your best use of scallops,
of any sort, on a project! This can include scalloped borders, offset-scallops, stamped scallops,
scalloped mats, scalloped frames, layered scallops, scalloped tags or anything else you can dream up!
You can use dies, patterned scissors or even circle punches in a row to achieve your special look. We
are looking forward to seeing all of your amazing creations!

And here is my take:

I die-cut scalloped borders from patterned paper, assembled them and die-cut the butterfly afterwards. I am in love with stick pins at the moment! Need to get more :)

You'll find a list of all the participants on Nichole's blog here. Happy Hopping!

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Very CAS

Happy Thursday! Today I have a very CAS card for you. I love the "Ashley's Blossoms" set from My Cute Stamps:

I stamped the branch with black dye ink onto the white cardbase and colored the blossoms with a brush, using distress inks mixed with water. Just added some gems to highlight the blossoms and voilà! Sometimes it has to be simple!

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!

Vanessa

Go-To-Sketches!

Happy Wednesday! Do you want to get published? Do you like sketches? If yes, then why not submit to the current call for submissions for the next fabulous Paper Crafts Special Issue "Go-To-Sketches for Cardmakers"? And I would love to see your great takes on some of the sketches especially - because four of the sketches are from me! I was asked to submit some ideas and while waiting for my appointment at the doctor I sketched them. And before falling asleep I did some more. This is one of them:

I got the inspiration for this from a bunch of tissue paper pom poms still hanging in the room from my daughter's birthday. Inspiration is everywhere! The other sketches I made are #39, #41 and #47. You will find the call here and all the sketches here. Deadline is Monday, 28th.

I hope you'll submit, I would be so proud to see my friends' cards published!

Have a happy day and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

CARDS January Publications

Happy Thursday! I just wanted to share the two cards that were published in the January Issue of CARDS magazine:

Yummy October Afternoon with Hero Arts and PTI on the first one. Don't you just love how they did the set-up? And yummy Pink Paislee on the second:

I already shared this card a while ago when I made it for a sketch challenge. You'll find the online issue here. Lots of inspiration!

Ok, I had planned to attend my first ever Stampin Up soiree tonight. But the little girl is refusing to fall asleep. Poor sweetie! She's having a light bronchitis and the medication is keeping her awake. Don't want to leave as long as she is not sleeping. She is doing fine with her Daddy, but when it comes to sleeping she still wants me. And I would be uncomfortable knowing she is struggling still. Anyone else out there being such an overprotective mother??? Well, it might be better for my wallet anyway...

Took this one yesterday.

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!

Vanessa

Vellum Sentiment Strip Part 2

Vanessa

Make it Mondays - Vellum Sentiment Strip

Happy Tuesday! Well, I hope yours is at least! I made a card for this week's Make it Mondays challenge. I loved Nichole's video, especially the thing about creating a shadow with a copic marker! Here is my take on the challenge "Vellum Sentiment Strip":

Sorry for the bad photo, it is very gloomy here today! I thought it would be fun to create a little flag from the vellum sentiment strip and "tie" it around the handle of the tea pot. I am glad I found some vellum, I almost used it up! The tea pot is stamped with Versamark onto Ripe Avocado cardstock. I have the tea pot die, but I decided it would look better with the flag on the handle when I fussy-cut the image. Not easy, the handles of my favorite little scissors broke - sometimes I feel like Godzilla destroying everything! Any recommendations on tiny scissors for fussy cutting? I would really appreciate any help as I need them quite often!

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

For a little girl...

Happy Sunday! Today I have a card I made for a little girl who turned 2 this week. We are invited to her birthday party this afternoon - my daughter can't wait for the afternoon to come! I played around with two sets from My Cute Stamps. This is the result:

Very unusual colors for me, looking at it now I would have chosen different ones - but I started with the S I wanted to use for her name and the other colors seemed to go well with its color. Next time I'll start with pink :)

Here is a close-up:

I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday! Thanks for visiting!!

Vanessa

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge Part 3

Hello! So, here is my next Go To Sentiments card. The challenge says to create a card, not a project, so I decided to make this card with the design of the little favor bag. Now I have a nice set I can give to a special someone! Here is my card:

I really love the look of the lavender! It is so easy to color it with the Tombow Markers - another must-have to spend money on...

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!!

Vanessa

Just had to pull out my Tea For Two set again. And I'll never get tired of the Bitty Dot Basics papers! You'll find everything about the challenge here.

I'll be back with another Go To Sentiment card - I fear my bag didn't count, so I made a card with its design!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge Part 2

Hello again! I am back with my second entry for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge, using Erin's Go To Sentiment technique. This time I created a little favor bag, I hope that it qualifies although it is not a card:

I stamped the sentiments with Versamark onto Ripe Avocado cardstock. The lavender is die-cut from watercolor paper, then I used Tombow Markers on the stamp, misted it with water and stamped it. Love this technique!

Hope you are having a sunny day! Thanks for stopping by!

Vanessa

Papertrey Ink Tag Download Challenge

Happy Sunday! So, this is a chance I don't wanna miss!!! Nichole Heady is celebrating Papertrey's 4th Anniversary at the moment and is offering amazing, incredible, wonderful prizes!!! Today's prize is the chance to create your own stamp set with Nichole herself!! Your own PAPERTREY INK STAMP SET! How cool is that?? Just imagine this! Besides leaving a comment you get more chances of being drawn when linking a project (or up to nine) made with the tags that are available for free on her blog. I am glad I was able to come up with at least one card (although staying in bed would have been more reasonable, but this chance!!!)... and here it is:

I used Heather Nichol's cute tag, I was drawn by the beautiful colors. For your chance to play, check out the details here.

Stamp It! Techniques

Happy Thursday, sweet friends!! I am back sharing one of my four cards published in the fabulous Paper Crafts Special Issue Stamp It! Techniques. You'll find this one in the paper-piecing chapter, along with its step-outs:

Funny thing about this card is that I combined Hero Arts stamps with Basic Grey Paper here! Such a coincidence, now that they teamed up!!!

I just got my issue of this magazine this week - it is amazing!!! And I am so happy to know many of the girls published in there from the Hero Arts flickr group. Check out this amazingly talented group here! And get your issue of this must-have magazine here, you won't be disappointed! Aaand - no, that's all. Oh, no, it's not! Submit to the current Paper Crafts call for submissions for the next Stamp It! Cards magazine here!!! Go for it, you can do it! This will be a "big" special issue with LOTS of cards in it, so chances are good to get accepted. Go go go! But I warn you, it is addictive :)

Ok, I think that's it for today. Thanks for visiting my little spot and have a beautiful day!

Hugs,
Vanessa

My Vinnie is back!

Happy Tuesday! My Vinnie is back! I am so glad to be able to work with her gorgeous digi kits again! Today the new "Dash & Dot Collection" is available at 2Peas! Here is a peek at this fun kit:

And here are two cards I made with it:

Just love the fun colors and elements! Perfect for spring! Check out the kit here!

I'll add supplies later - I am too exhausted now! Yesterday I started working again after three years and I am not yet used to standing all day long/talking all day long/smiling all day long... It'll be only two days a week, so I'll still have plenty of time for my little girl and my crafting passion. Back to that tomorrow, can't wait :)

Thanks for visiting and have a happy day!!

Hugs,
Vanessa
