Card Patterns Sketch 113

Happy Saturday! Wow, a week without posting! I hope you had a fabulous Easter weekend! Can't believe it is the last day of April already. And it obviously wanted to show all sides of April on its last day - from sunshine to rain. I am glad my laundry dried this morning, my husband was able to cut down a tree and I finished planting some more raspberries before it poured. Just in time! But enough of this. So here is my next card for Card Patterns. Sketch 113 is sponsored by Layers of Color and I used their Embroidered Butterfly:

I had to use my Butterfly Garden paper from Pink Paislee for this. And I was in the mood for a bit of shabby and soft this time.

Do you want to win some great stamps from Layers of Color? Then come over and join us this week!! Find all the details here!

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful weekend sweet friends!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Card Patterns Sketch 112

Happy Saturday! For me, it is! I was feeling sick yesterday and wasn't able to get anything done. But this afternoon it got better! Now I am able to share my take on Card Patterns' sketch 112 with you. Boy, I did have so much fun with this one! Our sponsor this week is Paper Makeup Stamps and I chose to work with this adorable stamp, called Jerry plus sentiment:

His grumpy face makes me smile big! I thought he might not be amused to become a pink gingham guy, but he didn't have a say. The papers are from the Pink Paislee Hometown Summer Collection.

I wanted the sentiment to be a banner that looks like it is flying in the wind, so I used a pencil to curl the paper and adhered it with some foam tape. (it is so difficult to explain the curling thing, I hope you can imagine how I did it...)

I hope you will join us this week and show me your take on this sketch! Find all the details here.

Thanks for visiting, Happy Easter to you and your dear ones!!!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Vinnie Pearce Reno Collection

Happy Tuesday! Today a new Vinnie Pearce Collection is being released at 2Peas! The new Collection is called Reno and contains a lot of great elements for masculine projects. But I wasn't in the mood for masculine and because the kit offers so many possibilities, I decided to create this:

Hehe, I have to admit I love this one! The cute birds made me smile and I thought those party hats would make them even cuter. Don't you love that woodgrain paper?

And then I wanted to try another layout. Here it is (click to enlarge):

You can find this collection here. Have a super sunny day everybody and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Card Patterns Sketch # 110

Happy Sunday! We had a wonderful sunny weekend and spent a lot of time in the garden, so much work to do! But an enjoyable kind of work. And today we had our first barbecue of the year. Yumm! I am definitely a summer-loving type :)

Ok, now to a new Card Patterns Sketch Challenge! This week our generous sponsor is SRM Stickers! I had never used their product before, but it is fun I tell you! Love that the stickers look so good on patterned paper:

The stickers combined with some October Afternoon paper were perfect to create a card for the 3rd birthday of our nephew. And I can't get enough of baker's twine!

So, I hope you'll come over and join us this week! Find all the details here. Oh and today is the last day to comment on the Paper Crafts blog hop post below for your chance to win a copy of the 350 Cards & Gifts magazine!

Thanks so much for visiting and have a sunny day!

Paper Crafts magazine Presents: 350 Cards & Gifts Blog Hop

Happy Friday and welcome to the 350 Cards & Gifts Blog Hop! I am delighted to have 9 projects in this amazing Special Issue and honored to be among this fab group of designers participating in the hop! I hope you already had the chance to get your hands on this:

But if not, you really really have to! This is the best issue ever! Personally I can't stop flipping through it again and again. Can't believe what everybody came up with! You can get your issue here. Or, here is your chance to win it!!! Just leave a comment by midnight (MDT) on Sunday, April 10 and I'll draw a winner shortly afterwards! And for even more chances, leave a comment on every blog of this hop. And for your chance to win a huge huge prize package, including Xyron’s 5” Creative Station and 5” Refill Cartridge, Pink Paislee’s Hometown Summer collection, Vintage Street Market’s Dimestore Vogue Paper Kit and Tinted Tapes AND copies of 225 Cards & Gifts and 350 Cards & Gifts, be sure to comment on the Paper Crafts Connection blog! There will be chosen 3 winners for this! But now to my little project made for this special occasion. I was asked to use my pattern for the Little Bunny Gift Bag to create a new interpretation of it. Here is the result:

I chose to create a completely different bag. That fun patterned paper inspired me to use the postmark stamps from Papertrey Ink:

This time I didn't use a hook and loop fastener to close the bag, but these fun wood buttons and some baker's twine:

The possibilities are endless. You'll find the pattern for this bag, as well as all the other free patterns of this issue here. I had so much fun creating them and it is really easy. When I was working on my submissions for the call, I just looked around the house to find inspiration for boxes and bags. The Floral for You box on p.68 was inspired by the pizza box I found in our kitchen. Just look around, take your score board and start creating!

I hope you liked my project today! Be sure to hop on to Kristin K. Tierney! Can't wait to see what all the designers made for the hop! Here is the list of all the participants:
You can also find this list on the Paper Crafts Connection blog in case my links are not working. Happy hopping and thanks for visiting!

Make it Mondays - For You

Happy Wednesday! Last night I had some fun playing with new stamps and paper and made a card for the Papertrey Ink Make it Mondays challenge. This week it is all about heat embossing. My favorite heat embossing technique is emboss resist, but on this card I just did "normal embossing" on the buttons to make them look real:

Here is a close-up of them to see the shine:

The houndstooth is stamped with the new background set and I so love the new postmark stamp set!!! It is so much fun to play with - endless possibilities! And the tiny envelope die! I will have to hold back myself from putting a little envelope onto every card now...

Just playing around - I had so much fun making this card! But I am sure I'll make another card using the emboss resist technique :)

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great one!!!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Card Patterns Sketch # 109

Happy Sunday! One day late for the next Card Patterns Sketch, but it has been chaotic here again. I am so sick of colds and flus and sickness. You know what I mean! This weekend the weather was fab - it wasn't like spring, it was like summer already! But my poor little girl hasn't been well and her ear hurt all the time, so we weren't able to enjoy this. Please keep your fingers crossed that we will have a good night and get some rest this time...

But enough of boring you with those minor problems! Here is my sample for this week's Card Patterns sketch:

We are sponsored by Catherine Pooler, Independent SU Demonstrator again. Come over and join us, I'd love to see your take on the sketch!

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day!

Hugs,
Vanessa
