It's the little things...

Happy Wednesday! Another little thing making us happy these days:

My girl would like to eat it every day. For breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yesterday she ate about 5 bowls of it. And it makes me happy, too. So fun to eat :)
I hope you have something that makes you smile today...

I'll be back on Friday with a card for a great blog hop! Be sure to come back to help me welcome THE new challenge blog Lily Pad Cards.

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day!

Hugs,
Vanessa

It's the little things...

Happy Sunday! I decided to start a new feature on my blog. It will be called "It's the little things...". And it will be about the little things in life that make me happy. Little things are what life is all about and it is important to remember them, to recognize them and to enjoy them! I am sure you all care about the little things, because you are all crafter like me and to us paying attention to little things and details is essential. I won't post this feature on certain days, I will post whenever I want to and have a little thing to share. So here is my first one for this feature:

Yes, my shoes and my jeans make me happy. This combination reminds me of warm weather - not yet summer, but feeling it's around the corner already. Walking in these shoes feels light and soft. It makes me want to include a little hopping or jumping. Playing tag with my little girl and then going to the ice cream parlor to get us some ice-cream. And wearing sunglasses already. No need for a jacket, but still longsleeves. Any little things that make you happy right now?

Hugs,
Vanessa

Card Patterns Sketch # 108

Happy Saturday! Here I am with my take on Card Patterns' sketch # 108. We are sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps this week and I used the digi Silk on Glass for my card:

Love these colors together - I think this is a new favorite combo! First I printed the digi onto the ledger patterned Jenni Bowlin paper, then I die-cut the circle and colored the image with copics.

Come over and join us this week! Find all the details here!

Tomorrow I'll be back with a new feature on my blog. Would love for you to come back!

Thanks for visiting!

Papertrey March Blog Hop Challenge

Happy Friday! Well, actually I didn't have time to make a card for this month's PTI blog hop. I ought to get my craft space organized now that we bought some new shelves. I ought to put the washing on the line, I ought to clean out the dishwasher. Oh and some vacuum cleaning would be helpful, too! But who am I telling this :)

Here is the card I didn't have time to make:

This month's challenge is to use floss in a creative way. You think that tying it around the orange panel isn't very creative? Well, I agree! The creative use is on the couch. I covered a piece of cardstock with floss and die-cut the couch from it:

Then I stamped the image and colored the "feet" with copics. Here is the piece of cardstock after I die-cut it:

You'll find a list of all the participants on Nichole's blog. Although I am sure that there won't be much of a hopping now that the projects are visible via InLinkz... But a lot of eye-candy to be inspired from!

Have a fabulous day and thanks for visiting!

Vanessa

Make it Mondays - Dino Birthday

Happy Wednesday! Here is the card I made for Alyssa's friend who turned 3 this week. We spent a fun afternoon at his birthday party yesterday! For the cute little dino I used this week's Make It Mondays technique:

The label with the dino is stamped onto spring moss cardstock and colored with various copics. I tried to create some depth, but it is difficult to see in the photo:

This time I decided to go with faux stitching, I stamped the "stitches" with the zig-zag line from the Button Boutique set. Never thought it would be that much fun.

I hope your day is beautiful! Thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

A giftbag and sharing some luck

Happy Thursday and Happy St. Patrick's Day to you! We do not celebrate this in Germany, but I thought in honor of this day I'd share some photos, because they just fit so perfectly! And to share some craftiness, too, here is a green giftbag:

I made this a while ago for the call for the Paper Crafts 350 Cards & Gifts magazine that is on sale now. Obviously this one didn't make it, but some other projects did. I will share one later. Now to the other photos. I have this special ability. Whenever I walk in the meadow, I can't help but see these:

These are some I found last summer and I remembered to take a photo of them! So my sweet friends, this is for you:

For each petal on the shamrock
this brings a wish your way-
good health, good luck and
happiness for today and every day!

Thanks for visiting and have a lucky day!

Vanessa

Card Patterns Sketch # 106

Happy Saturday! Well, I hope it is a happy Saturday in your part of the world! My thoughts are with all those affected by the horrible earthquake and tsunami! I really hope you are all safe sweet friends!

Now it is time for a new Card Patterns sketch! Here is my sample for sketch # 106:

I love this new doily die from Papertrey Ink! But it takes a while to get out all those little holes - I might need that punch out tool :). This paper is from an old Melissa Frances Collection. I found it in a drawer buried under some other hoarded paper... ha, at least I tried to use some old paper before I ordered new one *blush*

Come over and join us at Card Patterns this week for your chance to win some fab Spellbinders dies! Here are all the details!

And thanks for all your sweet comments on my girl's costumes this week! You made my day! Have a great weekend!

A winner, a cute ladybug and a card

Happy Wednesday! I am back to announce the winner of my give-away. Thanks to everyone who entered! There weren't many interested in it - I guess you all already have a subscription to Paper Crafts? So, without further ado, the randomly chosen winner is

CinnamonSally said...

Great card Vanessa and congratulations on being published again. I have added your giveaway to my sidebar, thanks for the chance to win.
Sallyx

Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you! Thanks for spreading the word about my give-away and for being such a sweet friend, Sally! Please email me your address again (I have it somewhere, but just in case) and I'll forward it to the Paper Crafts editor.

Ok, now to a card. I've seen many cards posted that weren't accepted for the latest Paper Crafts call. I didn't have much time to make a lot for the call, but I am honored to have some accepted. But this one didn't make it, so I thought I'd share it here. I used sketch 76:

Yummy October Afternoon! Love that cute image of the little girl. Oh, and how about another adorable girl? I had to make another costume for Alyssa, because the little sheep lost too much "wool" and she needed one for the festivities in Kindergarten. She wanted to be a bug, so I made her this ladybug costume:

A quick tutu made from tulle strips, a black pair of tights with some antennae and wings made from fun foam:

It took me less than an hour, a tiny budget and I love the result :)

I can smell spring here in my corner of the world. How about you? Wishing you all a sunny day! Thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Skipping Stones Design - Sketch 67

Happy Tuesday! Here comes my take on this week's Skipping Stones Design Sketch:

I used the gorgeous butterfly from the "Healing Wings" set and a sentiment from the "Always Here" set combined with some yummy Cosmo Cricket paper. The image and the sentiment are heat embossed with black embossing powder - I think that the sentiment looks crisper on a patterned background this way.

I hope you'll join us this week! Check out the amazing samples from the DT and Guests here!

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!

Oh, and I didn't forget the winner from my give-away! I'll post her tomorrow!

Vanessa

Card Patterns Sketch # 105

Happy Saturday! This week Card Patterns is sponsored by Catherine Pooler, an independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and we were able to play with some yummy paper and ribbon. Here is my take on sketch 105:

I wanted it to be fresh. Can't wait for spring to come! No more colds, flus and whatelse we are suffering from all the time! I hope you are not groaning "butterflies - again!". Can't help it. Please join us this week over at Card Patterns! Find all the info here.

Now I wanted to share photos of my cute little sheep. I made a costume for Alyssa last week when we were invited to a Mardi Gras Party for kids. The idea for the costume is from Martha Stewart. Isn't it the cutest?

I used one of her old tights to create the hat and sewed some felt ears to it. Those cotton balls are all sewn to the shirt. She loved it, but those cotton balls are very fuzzy and she lost some "wool" over the afternoon (especially onto my black cardigan). But I couldn't help hugging her - she was soo fluffy :)

I hope you are well! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa
