Make it Mondays - Vellum Sentiment Strip

Happy Tuesday! Well, I hope yours is at least! I made a card for this week's Make it Mondays challenge. I loved Nichole's video, especially the thing about creating a shadow with a copic marker! Here is my take on the challenge "Vellum Sentiment Strip":

Sorry for the bad photo, it is very gloomy here today! I thought it would be fun to create a little flag from the vellum sentiment strip and "tie" it around the handle of the tea pot. I am glad I found some vellum, I almost used it up! The tea pot is stamped with Versamark onto Ripe Avocado cardstock. I have the tea pot die, but I decided it would look better with the flag on the handle when I fussy-cut the image. Not easy, the handles of my favorite little scissors broke - sometimes I feel like Godzilla destroying everything! Any recommendations on tiny scissors for fussy cutting? I would really appreciate any help as I need them quite often!

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Supplies:
Everything Papertrey Ink, except for ink (Tsukineko) and pearls (Prima)

Love the shadow detail of your gorgeous leaves!
I can't live without my Cutterbee scissors for fussy cutting - think they're made by EK Success. HTH! Get two pairs - one for fussy cutting and one for ribbon :D
Great idea for the Make it Mondays challenge!

My Cutterbee scissors go dull pretty quick. I went through several pairs before I discovered the little black snips at Stampin Up. I have several pairs to share but I still use my original pair from 3 years ago!!

Did you cut the leaves out of the base and let the back show through or are the leaves cut out and adhered to the card?

Love this card Vanessa! I have Cutter bee scissors too. I know some people like smalller scissors for super detailed cuting but these work great for me. Oh, beautiful shading too! I gotta try that too. :)

very pretty design and love the vellum flag! neat idea! i am using this one now and am pretty happy with it. although i have heard good thing about Tim's Snip. i am very tempting to switch since it selfsharpens (i think...). i may be too late, but hope it helps! =)
