Welcome to day two of the winnie & walter share the love week featuring Distress Inks by Ranger! Our second challenge is ombre. Yes, can't get enough of this trend! Here comes my take on this challenge:
I created a double ombre, on the background and on the flower. For my background, I masked my panel, used my Spun Sugar ink pad + my mini ink blending tool and applied ink in circular motions. Then I masked my inked portion of the panel and applied ink from my Picked Raspberry pad, keeping it very light and soft. Finally, I masked the inked portion again and applied Picked Raspberry heavily onto the remaining portion of the panel. To create the flower, I die-cut 6 flowers from 3 layering flower dies. I inked up the smallest flowers heavily and applied less and less ink onto the larger flowers. Then I layered them and fixed them with a brad. Now I spritzed the layered flower with water from a Mini Mister and started folding the petals to the center. When the flower was dry, I carefully unfolded it and it was finished. For a matching sentiment, I heat-embossed the hello from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy using gold embossing powder. Then I inked the cardstock using Picked Raspberry again and cut the hello out to arrange it with my other elements onto my card. I hope you like it!
Can't wait to see your take on the ombre challenge! Don't forget to hop to the winnie & walter blog to enter for your chance to win yummy Ranger Industries goodies! I wish I could win them :o)
I'll be back tomorrow with the third technique using Distress Inks. Thanks for stopping by!
