Stretching My Stamps

Although I might have too many stamps (but really, can anyone ever have too many??), I like to look at them, stretching my stamps from time to time and use them in an unexpected way. Today, I chose to do so with my Simon Says Stamp exclusive stamp set "Scribble Flowers". I love how versatile this set is! I already used it here and here and wanted to find another way to use it. While looking at it, I suddenly saw baubles. So here comes a christmas card made with a flower set:

The small circles made perfect light accents, don't you think? To create this card, I heat-embossed the scribbled circles using clear embossing powder on watercolor paper. Then I colored the baubles with Distress Inks mixed with water. Onto the background, I applied a light watercolor wash with light blue Distress Ink. For the sentiment, I used the "happy" die from the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Happy Birthday dies and die-cut it from black cardstock. After I had adhered it to the card, I stamped "holidays" from the winnie & walter set "The Big, the Bold, and the Happy". To finish the card off, I adhered Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. I hope to have inspired you to look at your stamps and find different ways to use them! Thanks for visiting today!

Geniale Idee!
