winnie & walter World Card Making Day Challenge: Pinspiration

Hello fellow cardmakers and happy World Card Making Day to you! I hope you have been able/will be able to squeeze in some crafting today! This special day is being celebrated all over blogland and winnie & walter cooked up some fun for you, too! We are having various challenges for you and it's an honor for me to host one of them. I love looking through Pinterest for inspiration almost every day, so my challenge for you is to create a project inspired by an image I found on Pinterest. Here comes the one I chose:

Isn't this case gorgeous? I'd love one! I created a card staying very close to the inspiration photo:

To create this card, I used the bold triangle stamp from Scenery: It's a Wonderful Pennant and stamped it using various pink and orange inks. Then I cut them out and arranged them on a panel of woodgrain patterned paper. Here you can see this step:

After adhering the triangles, I turned the panel around and trimmed off the excess with scissors. Then I rounded the corners and stamped and heat-embossed the hello from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy using black embossing powder. To add to the graphic look, I layered soft pink and black cardstock pieces underneath the panel. Some black sequins finished the card off.
Now it is your turn! Whether it's the colors, the design, the shapes, the woodgrain - I'd love to see your take on this Pinspiration! Link up your project(s) here on the winnie & walter blog, you'll have until next Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:55 p.m. CST to participate in all our challenges!

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!

Vanessa
