Card Patterns Sketch 121- Hello

Happy Saturday! This week, Card Patterns is sponsored by Whimsie Doodles. When I looked at Nina's Sketch and then at the digis we were given to work with, I couldn't help but see this:

A fish-bowl on a table that is decorated with a nice tablecloth! This card has not turned out exactly the way I wanted it to, I imagined it much better! But ok. I would choose clear cardstock for the water next time. Here is a shot of the little fish:

Oh, my. I guess this was my last card for the Card Patterns DT term. Sigh. Don't want it to end! I really enjoyed being on this team!!! Those ladies are the sweetest! Please come over and join us, I'd love to see your take on this!

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy day!

Hugs,
Vanessa

We are sponsored by DRS Designs this week and I used their adorable Jenny Giraffe image for my card:

Another image that is perfect for paper-piecing. I used different foam tapes to adhere the spots:

Card Patterns Sketch 118 and the WINNER!!!

Happy Saturday!! I am sorry I didn't post all week long, but my little girl caught a bad cold and she passed it on to me, too. But now we are both feeling better! Today I have a sunny card for you as well as the winner of my blogoversary giveaway (finally). First the card I made for Card Patterns' Sketch 118:

Our sponsor this week is once again the independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Catherine Pooler! The ribbon and paper I used on my card are SU!, the stamps are Hero Arts. I created the grass with regular scissors and just cut repeatedly until I was satisfied. To give the paper-pieced flower more depth, I colored the petals slightly with an orange pencil.

I hope you'll join us this week over at Card Patterns! Find everything about this week's sketch here.

And now to the long due announcement of my giveaway winner! Here is what random.org chose:

And here is my lucky winner:

Congratulations sweet Barb!!! Please drop me an email with your address - I will try to take a photo of your goodies before sending them!

Thanks to everybody who entered the giveaway and especially for your sweet comments! I will work on them, as well as on some other comments and questions I got on other posts and will answer everything soon!

Thank you so much for visiting and have a beautiful day!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Card Patterns Sketch 115

Happy Saturday! This week Card Patterns is sponsored by The Craft's Meow again and we all used the Little Frieda on our cards. I used Little Frieda at the Seashore:

That card fell in place around the banner from October Afternoon. I thought the twine would add some maritime feeling to it. Oh, and just in case you are wondering about that leg in the background, I had a little helper while taking the photo:

I hope you will join us over at Card Patterns this week! Show us your take on the sketch for your chance to become our Guest Designer or win two brand new stamp sets from The Craft's Meow! Check out the details here.

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful weekend! I am busy making cards for the latest Paper Crafts call, it is so much fun to just play with supplies!

Card Patterns Sketch 114

Happy Saturday! It's Card Patterns day again, and our generous sponsor this week is once again the independent SU! Demonstrator Catherine Pooler. Here is my sample for sketch 114:

Another shabby little card. I distressed the edges of the patterned paper with scissors and inked them up a bit. The seam binding is hand died with black tea. So easy and fun! I tried some fruit tea to achieve a soft pink result, but it turned out mauve. Looks good, too!

Please come over to Card Patterns and join us this week! I would love you to!

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!

Vanessa

Card Patterns Sketch 113

Happy Saturday! Wow, a week without posting! I hope you had a fabulous Easter weekend! Can't believe it is the last day of April already. And it obviously wanted to show all sides of April on its last day - from sunshine to rain. I am glad my laundry dried this morning, my husband was able to cut down a tree and I finished planting some more raspberries before it poured. Just in time! But enough of this. So here is my next card for Card Patterns. Sketch 113 is sponsored by Layers of Color and I used their Embroidered Butterfly:

I had to use my Butterfly Garden paper from Pink Paislee for this. And I was in the mood for a bit of shabby and soft this time.

Do you want to win some great stamps from Layers of Color? Then come over and join us this week!! Find all the details here!

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful weekend sweet friends!

Vanessa

Card Patterns Sketch 112

Happy Saturday! For me, it is! I was feeling sick yesterday and wasn't able to get anything done. But this afternoon it got better! Now I am able to share my take on Card Patterns' sketch 112 with you. Boy, I did have so much fun with this one! Our sponsor this week is Paper Makeup Stamps and I chose to work with this adorable stamp, called Jerry plus sentiment:

His grumpy face makes me smile big! I thought he might not be amused to become a pink gingham guy, but he didn't have a say. The papers are from the Pink Paislee Hometown Summer Collection.

I wanted the sentiment to be a banner that looks like it is flying in the wind, so I used a pencil to curl the paper and adhered it with some foam tape. (it is so difficult to explain the curling thing, I hope you can imagine how I did it...)

I hope you will join us this week and show me your take on this sketch! Find all the details here.

Thanks for visiting, Happy Easter to you and your dear ones!!!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Card Patterns Sketch # 110

Happy Sunday! We had a wonderful sunny weekend and spent a lot of time in the garden, so much work to do! But an enjoyable kind of work. And today we had our first barbecue of the year. Yumm! I am definitely a summer-loving type :)

Ok, now to a new Card Patterns Sketch Challenge! This week our generous sponsor is SRM Stickers! I had never used their product before, but it is fun I tell you! Love that the stickers look so good on patterned paper:

The stickers combined with some October Afternoon paper were perfect to create a card for the 3rd birthday of our nephew. And I can't get enough of baker's twine!

So, I hope you'll come over and join us this week! Find all the details here. Oh and today is the last day to comment on the Paper Crafts blog hop post below for your chance to win a copy of the 350 Cards & Gifts magazine!

Thanks so much for visiting and have a sunny day!

Card Patterns Sketch # 109

Happy Sunday! One day late for the next Card Patterns Sketch, but it has been chaotic here again. I am so sick of colds and flus and sickness. You know what I mean! This weekend the weather was fab - it wasn't like spring, it was like summer already! But my poor little girl hasn't been well and her ear hurt all the time, so we weren't able to enjoy this. Please keep your fingers crossed that we will have a good night and get some rest this time...

But enough of boring you with those minor problems! Here is my sample for this week's Card Patterns sketch:

Card Patterns Sketch # 108

Happy Saturday! Here I am with my take on Card Patterns' sketch # 108. We are sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps this week and I used the digi Silk on Glass for my card:

Love these colors together - I think this is a new favorite combo! First I printed the digi onto the ledger patterned Jenni Bowlin paper, then I die-cut the circle and colored the image with copics.

Come over and join us this week! Find all the details here!

Tomorrow I'll be back with a new feature on my blog. Would love for you to come back!

Card Patterns Sketch # 106

Happy Saturday! Well, I hope it is a happy Saturday in your part of the world! My thoughts are with all those affected by the horrible earthquake and tsunami! I really hope you are all safe sweet friends!

Now it is time for a new Card Patterns sketch! Here is my sample for sketch # 106:

I love this new doily die from Papertrey Ink! But it takes a while to get out all those little holes - I might need that punch out tool :). This paper is from an old Melissa Frances Collection. I found it in a drawer buried under some other hoarded paper... ha, at least I tried to use some old paper before I ordered new one *blush*

Come over and join us at Card Patterns this week for your chance to win some fab Spellbinders dies! Here are all the details!

And thanks for all your sweet comments on my girl's costumes this week! You made my day! Have a great weekend!

Card Patterns Sketch # 105

Happy Saturday! This week Card Patterns is sponsored by Catherine Pooler, an independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and we were able to play with some yummy paper and ribbon. Here is my take on sketch 105:

I wanted it to be fresh. Can't wait for spring to come! No more colds, flus and whatelse we are suffering from all the time! I hope you are not groaning "butterflies - again!". Can't help it. Please join us this week over at Card Patterns! Find all the info here.

Now I wanted to share photos of my cute little sheep. I made a costume for Alyssa last week when we were invited to a Mardi Gras Party for kids. The idea for the costume is from Martha Stewart. Isn't it the cutest?

I used one of her old tights to create the hat and sewed some felt ears to it. Those cotton balls are all sewn to the shirt. She loved it, but those cotton balls are very fuzzy and she lost some "wool" over the afternoon (especially onto my black cardigan). But I couldn't help hugging her - she was soo fluffy :)

I hope you are well! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa
