Make it Monday #147

Another card for a Make it Monday challenge. This time a multi-layered image from a single stamp:

Noch eine Karte für eine Make it Monday Challenge. Diesmal ein einzelnes Stempelmotiv in vielen Lagen:

I didn't want to use various inks, but used gradient cardstocks for my layering. It wasn't that easy to find a stamp image in my stash to use this technique as I don't own any of the tag sets, but I think this one works ok…
Thanks for visiting!

Make It Monday # 146

I've decided to play with this week's Make It Monday challenge: Angled Backgrounds. For my version, I didn't arrange the strips so neatly and used various sizes. I just grabbed some scraps that were lying around:

Ich habe beschlossen, diese Woche beim Make It Monday Challenge mitzumachen.

A fun technique I will use more often now to use up some of my tiny patterned paper stash. Ahem.
Thanks for visiting!

Collage Elements

I wanted to do some major stamping today. So I made a card for the PTI Make It Monday challenge: Collage Elements. Here it is:

Make It Monday Challenge: Collage Elements gemacht. Hier ist sie:

In love with mint/aqua/turquoise at the moment. The flower is not colored, it is stamped. I just inked up the solid flower image with gradient tones.

Carta Bella II

So, here comes the second card using Carta Bella's Beautiful Moments collection:

So, hier kommt die zweite Karte, die ich mit der Beautiful Moments Kollektion von Carta Bella gemacht habe:

I used the new hexagon stamps/dies from PTI for this card. And it fits the current Make it Monday challenge "Stamping on Patterned Paper", so I will enter it there. Get the beautiful Carta Bella collection at Scrapbook Werkstatt here!

Make it Mondays - Puffed Fabric Accents

Here I am again with an entry for this week's Make it Mondays challenge. I used Erin's puffed fabric accents technique, but I cheated a bit. I couldn't find my fun foam, so I used some felt circles to puff my accent:

Hier bin ich wieder mit einem Beitrag zum dies-wöchentlichen Make it Mondays Wettbewerb. Ich habe Erins Fluff-Stoff-Akzent Technik angewandt, aber ein wenig geschummelt. Ich konnte mein Moosgummi einfach nicht finden, also habe ich ein paar gestanzte Filzkreise genommen, um meinen Akzent zu fluffen:

Worked well! Thanks for stopping by today. And have a great day!

Hat gut funktioniert! Danke fürs Vorbeischauen heute. Und habt einen tollen Tag!

Make it Mondays - Sketches

Hello! I've been busy creating for a secret assignment (now that sounds pretty mysterious...) and spending time with my girl, so I haven't been around so much. But I just had to play with this week's Make it Mondays again. I used this sketch:

Hallo!

And here is my take:

Und hier ist meine Interpretation:

A new favorite color combo of mine. The gorgeous patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye. Sweet! Thanks for visiting and have a very happy day!

Eine neue Lieblings-Farbkombination. Das tolle Designpapier ist von My Mind's Eye. Lecker!

Make it Mondays - Pocket Card

Hi! I did like the idea of making a pocket card very much, so I made a card for this week's Make it Mondays challenge:

Hi!

I created a window with the button card die and adhered vellum behind it. Love the elegant look some vellum gives a project. If you have any questions, just send me an email. Thanks for looking!

Everything is Going to be Okay

Hello! I've decided to play with this week's Make it Mondays theme - felt flowers from border dies. Here is my result:

Hallo! Ich habe beschlossen, diese Woche bei Make it Mondays mitzumachen. Das Thema ist Filzblümchen aus Bordürenstanzen. Hier ist mein Ergebnis:

I have used a mix of PTI and My Mind's Eye patterned paper. For my roses, I used the medium scalloped border die from PTI. And I misted them a bit with Maya Road mist.

Have a great day!

Habt einen schönen Tag!

Make it Mondays - Washi Tape

Happy Tuesday! After I saw the new Make it Mondays video about creating your own washi tape, I had to rush to my desk and try this! What a great idea! I see myself creating a collection of washi tapes with every stamp I own :)
Here is the card I made last night:

This is a very soft tape, created using the Polka Dot Basics set. I will have to make one in every color and size! My head is spinning with ideas already. The leaves are from the Harvest Berries set and the sentiment from the Love Lives Here set. You can find Nichole's video here.

Ok, I am off to an appointment! I hope your day is beautiful! Thanks for visiting!

Make it Mondays - Frosted Images

Happy Wednesday! Today I played around creating some cards for a dear friend to give her for her birthday. On one I used this week's Make it Mondays technique. And here it is:

First I stamped the leaves like Lisa did in the video and afterwards I decided to add the subtle flourishes and the text. A great technique to create one layered cards (although mine isn't). You can find the video here.

I hope your day is beautiful! Thank you for visiting today!

Make it Mondays - Argyle Christmas Card

Happy Wednesday! I made a card using this week's Make it Mondays technique "Stamping with acrylic paint". I wanted to use my iridescent, blue paint and thought that it would look festive on a christmas card. Here it is:

Haha, a perfect background for taking the photo of a christmas card! But I had to go outside, it is so difficult to get a good shot of this shiny card. Everything is stamped with acrylic paint. First I stamped the bold argyle with blue paint onto a piece of Ocean Tides cardstock, then the lined argyle with white paint. Here is a closer look where you can see the shimmer of the blue paint:

Here is the link to the video if you'd like to try this technique.

I hope your day is beautiful! Thanks for visiting!

Make it Mondays - Colored Pencils

Happy Tuesday! During naptime I made a card for the Papertrey Ink Make it Mondays Challenge, using colored pencils and baby oil. I'd rather be working on other projects, but I couldn't resist the technique. I have been longing to use my sweet peas stamp set for weeks now. Inspired by my own sweet peas in the garden:

I've been enjoying bunches of these for weeks now. They are blooming and blooming and blooming this year! The more I get, the more they grow. It makes me so happy! First I started with little bunches like this:

But now I can get one like the first every day. I wish I could share the wonderful scent! In case someone is interested, here is what I built for them to give them hold:

But enough of proud gardener's blahblah :) Let's get to the card! Here it is:

I had some difficulties finding something to use the oil with. I ended using paper pencils. To create more depth, I created a shadow around the image. Here is another view and the closer look:

Such a great technique! You can find the video/challenge here.

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!

Make it Mondays - Freestyle Copic Coloring

Happy Tuesday! Last night I stayed up quite late and made a card for the new Make it Mondays challenge. I played around with the Copics and this is the result:

I stamped the leaf-veins onto the card, scribbled with the Copics to fill-in a leaf and just adhered the negative die-cut of the leaf over it.

Here is a closer look:

And here is how it looks underneath:

Really simple! If you'd like to enter this challenge and watch Betsy's video, just go here!

Make it Mondays - Glitter

Happy Wednesday! Last night I got messy with some glitter (ha, I know why I do not use it more often...) and made a card for PTI's Make it Mondays. After some very glittery, very unsuccessful attempts (including tossing some gorgeous pp into the trash bin), I managed this:

Yes, I went wild with the glitter and even added it to the heat-embossed leaves! Although I have to admit that I did it to disguise a white outline around the leaves. First I had stamped the leaves using White Snow ink, but it just didn't look that good. To avoid tossing another piece of glittered paper into the trash bin, I decided to use black embossing powder. But I didn't cover the previously stamped image exactly, so the white was showing on some of the edges of the leaves. So I added some more glitter. Happy little accidents!

It is fun layering all the circles! This one would work well as cupcake topper, too. Here is the closer look:

Like you might have guessed already, I don't have that much experience with glitter. I used a glue pen to add it. But will it really stay there? I am afraid to put it anywhere to not have the glitter everywhere. Would you recommend spraying hair spray over the card? Any advice is much appreciated! Oh, and here is the link to the video/challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Vanessa

Make it Mondays - Vintage Typewriter

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all well! We are, but we miss summer here - still waiting for it to return for some days! Today I have a very masculine card for you. Something different from my usual projects! I played around with this week's Make it Mondays technique and just wasn't able to receive a satisfying result with the ribbon and the Copics. I ended up with a small piece of ribbon that looked quite ok for me. I had to improvise and used it like this:

That vintage typewriter die-cut was sitting on my desk for a while and I wanted to use it. I think it works really well with the Newsprint stamp set! I don't know why, but I always think that a masculine project has to have something metal on it. I had to add those staples to the corner. Because they were silver and didn't match that vintage look, I colored them with a brown Copic to make them look older.

Here is the closer look (although you better don't look at that ribbon too closely):

Finally a card I can give to a man. An old one. Hehe. If you are interested in watching how beautiful a copic-striped ribbon can look, just go here. Nichole's project is breath-taking again.

Have a sunny day, sweet friends! And thanks for visiting!

Make it Mondays - Green Elegance

Happy Thursday! I was able to finish a card for this week's Make it Mondays challenge during nap-time today. I tried to make it very elegant:

Ha, can you tell I love the Damask Design pp? For this card, I spent a lot of time adding the machine sewing. To make sure that the stitching around the mat stack 1 die negative looks neat, I turned the wheel of the sewing machine by hand. This way I was able to control it better. The background is stamped with Textstyle 1.

The butterfly is die-cut from the last layer, then I added layers of butterflies that I die-cut from vellum.

Love this reverse layering technique using dies! You'll find the video about it here.

I hope your day is beautiful! Thanks for visiting!

Vanessa

Make it Mondays - Coloring with white ink

Happy Wednesday! Today I am sharing a card I made using this week's technique from the Make it Mondays video. The PTI white snow ink is my favorite white ink, it just works so well on Kraft! Here is my card:

I have been enjoying bunches of sweet peas from our garden over the last days and just had to ink up my sweet peas stamp set. This technique makes the flowers look delicate, just like they should look like. The edges of the Kraft panel is inked with Walnut Stain distress ink and after stamping and coloring my image, I decided to stamp some text from the textstyle set around the sweet peas.

Another fun technique to try. I am really looking forward to every Monday because of the new videos then! To see the video of this week, just go here.

I hope you are all well! Looks like we will get some sunshine today! Yay! Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day!

Make it Mondays and Moxie Fab World

Happy Wednesday! So, the birthday celebrations and weddings are over for now. Thanks for your sweet comments on the birthday post for my little girl! We had her friends here for a party on Monday, so it was quite busy here! And thanks to all of you who voted for me at the Gallery Idol! I am sorry that the contest was over for me so soon. It was a lot of fun! But now I can sit back and relax watching what the other girls come up with! They are amazing! Last night I made a card using this week's Make it Mondays' technique and I thought I'd combine it with the Moxie Fab World challenge Fanatical About Botanical. Oh, I love the botanical theme! Here is the card:

First I die-cut the seed packet from Kraft. Then I used a dry brush to apply the white acrylic paint. The text is stamped with Fresh Snow ink. The larkspur is colored with copics.

I have to use acrylic paint more often. I own some! So, to find the video and the Make it Mondays contest, just go here and to join the Moxie Fab World challenge, go here.

I am wishing you a happy and dry day (it has been raining here for about 20 hours now)! Thanks for visiting!

PLEASE vote if you haven't already. If you have, thank you so very much! To vote, just click onto the card shown in the top left corner. THANKS
Now the project. Last night I made a card for this week's Make it Mondays challenge. I had some fun playing with new stamps. Here it is:

That stamp set is so cute! Here is a closer look:

I am glad I got the picket fence die. It just works so well with this set! If you are interested in the video/challenge about making the little pockets, you will find it here.

Make it Mondays - Polariod 2-Step Masking

Happy Tuesday! There's another great technique video up on Nichole's blog! This time the technique is called Polariod 2-Step Masking. And Nichole's sample is gorgeous! I had to try this technique. So this is what I just made during nap-time:

I inked my heart out. The pink background started with a piece of cream cardstock. The roses are colored with distress inks that I spritzed with a mixture of perfect pearls and water, so there is a subtle shine on them:

Again I had so much fun using this technique! If you'd like to see the video, just go

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day!
