Sharing One Of Last Year's Pubs

As I don't have a new card I am allowed to show you yet, I thought I'd share one of last year's pubs. This card was in a CARDS Magazine last year:

Da ich grade keine neue Karte habe, die ich schon Zeigen darf, dachte ich, ich zeige eine meiner veröffentlichten Karten vom letzten Jahr. Diese war in einer Ausgabe des CARDS Magazins zu sehen:

Most supplies were from a SC kit, the thank you is an Hero Arts stamp.
Thanks for visiting!

Some Cards

Hello! Today I am sharing some cards from Northridge Media publications. Here we go:

Hallo!

The first two cards are from the CARDS January 2012 issue. That chipboard mug on the first card is taken from a Maya Road mini album. The cute squirrels on the other one are Unity stamps.

These three cards are published in the CREATE: Stamping Idea Book.

Diese drei Karten sind im CREATE: Stamping Idea Book veröffentlicht.

And this last one is in the CREATE: Vintage Idea Book. That's it. I hope your day is beautiful! Thanks for visiting!

Und diese letzte ist im CREATE: Vintage Idea Book. Das wars. Ich hoffe Dein Tag ist schön! Danke für den Besuch!

Pretty Poppies

Hello friends! Today's card was one that I had made for the Designer of the Month feature in the CARDS August 2011 issue. It was the extra card that was supposed to be featured on their blog. But they changed their procedure and don't feature the DOM any more, so this one never appeared. I used one of my favorite Hero Arts sets on this one:

Hallo Freunde!

The blossoms are colored with Copics. I love this color combo!

Die Blüten sind mit Copics coloriert. Ich liebe diese Farbkombination!

Thanks for visiting! And be sure to come back tomorrow! BIG BLOG HOP. Don't miss it!

Danke für Deinen Besuch! Und komm morgen auf jeden Fall wieder! GROSSER BLOG HOP. Darfst Du nicht verpassen!

Some More Publications I Forgot to Share and THE CAKE

Hello! I hope you are all well! And that you all had a wonderful christmas! I have been not well most of the time because of a nasty cold that made me feel dizzy. But I just worked slowly and enjoyed the magic of christmas nonetheless. It was such fun to watch the excitement of a sweet little girl. And I made the most elaborate cake ever! But first some projects to share. So totally out of the season, these Halloween Tags were published in the CARDS October 2011 issue:

You can only see one of them in this photo, but they are featured in a video, too. You'll find it here. And that issue can be found here. Yummy Pink Paislee again. I thought these would make nice little treats.

Next is a card from the Paper Crafts special issue Card Creations: Get Inspired:

Love that Hero Arts Lace Background stamp! I embossed it with gold embossing powder.

And the last card for today was featured on the Paper Crafts Connection blog yesterday:

This one is from the new special issue Cool Tools for Card Makers. Oh, I can't wait to get my hands on it! There will be a Cool Tools Week on the Paper Crafts Connection blog and Moxie Fab World (Jan. 9 -13). Don't miss it!

Now THE CAKE. I was close to giving him a name. So much time spent together. Haha. I got this new German magazine called Sweet Dreams and it is full of delicious cakes and desserts. We have been drooling over its pages. Ok, now that's not a pretty mental picture, sorry. Usually I just look at those amazing cakes and end up making the simple ones, but this time I decided to jump right in. And chose one of the most elaborate ones. It took me hours. Because I had to bake four different cake bases. Then make toffee for the filling. And then the toppings. But it was worth it. Proud me:

And a closer look at THE CAKE:

We were 8 on Christmas Eve. But we only ate a quarter of THE CAKE. Death by chocolate. I froze the rest. So yummy, but so much!

Long post. I hope you are still here? Thanks for reading! And thanks for visiting!

Hugs and Love,
Vanessa

I had the huge honor to be the Designer of the Month in that issue and had several cards in it. So here they are:

CARDS April Pubs

Happy Wednesday! Here are some cards that were published in the CARDS April 2011 issue:

The last one is new, I haven't shared it yet. Difficult to see in the picture, but the plane is glossy because I applied Glossy Accents.

Short post. Off to make another Baby card for a friend who got her boy this week!

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day!

CARDS January Publications

Happy Thursday! I just wanted to share the two cards that were published in the January Issue of CARDS magazine:

Yummy October Afternoon with Hero Arts and PTI on the first one. Don't you just love how they did the set-up? And yummy Pink Paislee on the second:

I already shared this card a while ago when I made it for a sketch challenge. You'll find the online issue here. Lots of inspiration!

Ok, I had planned to attend my first ever Stampin Up soiree tonight. But the little girl is refusing to fall asleep. Poor sweetie! She's having a light bronchitis and the medication is keeping her awake. Don't want to leave as long as she is not sleeping. She is doing fine with her Daddy, but when it comes to sleeping she still wants me. And I would be uncomfortable knowing she is struggling still. Anyone else out there being such an overprotective mother??? Well, it might be better for my wallet anyway...

Took this one yesterday.

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Lebkuchen, Amaryllis and Publications

Happy whatever! I am not sure what day of the week it is :) It is some days before Christmas, it is a day where my little angel is struggling with fever and lying in my bed sleeping, it is a day where the weather doesn't want to decide between rain and snow. It is the day I sent off some last Christmas mail and the day I have no idea what to cook for Christmas Eve yet. Except for dessert, but that's easy. And it is the day I share an exceptional yummy Lebkuchen recipe with you. I don't know if you are familiar with this "German Elisenlebkuchen". My hometown is famous for these and I love them. I saw that you have to pay a fortune for imported ones in the States, so maybe you'd like to try and make them yourself. First, my little helper (a few days ago when she was feeling well):

Then this amazing little thingy (I have no idea what it is called!), made from wood to form perfect Lebkuchen:

It is fab. You put the dough into the hollow, then a wafer on top, turn it around and spin the winder and your Lebkuchen land perfectly on your baking sheet.

But you can make your Lebkuchen without it, too! Just spread the dough onto the wafers and they'll be perfect. Here is how mine look like:

You'll need:

5 eggs
150 g sugar
150 g honey
ground lemon zest of one lemon
1 tablespoon lemonjuice
100g candied lemon peel (chopped)
100g candied orange peel (chopped)
3 teaspoons Lebkuchen-spice
(or mix your own one, using cinnamon, cardamom, clove, ginger, nutmeg)
500g ground almonds or hazelnuts (or mixed)
about 28 round wafers
about 150 g dark chocolate

Beat eggs with sugar, honey, spice, lemonjuice/zest until fluffy. Stir in almonds/hazelnuts (I like to roast them in a dry pan before using them) and candied peel. Spread dough onto wafers (about 1cm high), let dry for about 1 hour. Bake for about 25 min at 150°C. After they cooled down, melt chocolate and cover your Lebkuchen. Enjoy!

Now to one of my favorite flowers, the amaryllis. Here I got a white one with four blossoms blooming at once:

And for those looking for cards, here are the cards that were published in the Scrapbook Trends Special Issue Create: Christmas Cards:

I hope you are having a fabulous time! Christmas is near, I hope to be back before it is over!

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day!

Hugs,
Vanessa

CARDS November Pub and new Design Team

Happy Weekend! Today I am sharing a card that was published in the November issue of CARDS Magazine:

Everything is Papertrey Ink, except for the yellow floral paper, that's from the Artsy Urban Collection by GCD Studios.

And now to some exciting news! I am a proud new member of the My Cute Stamps Design Team:

Can't wait for my stamps to arrive to get started! I will stalk the post man :)

Have a happy Saturday everybody, stay warm in your part of the world! Thanks for stopping by!

CARDS September Publications

Happy Sunday! I almost forgot to share my cards that were published in the CARDS September Issue. Here they are:

On the first one I used the cute tree from Unity's February KOM "...nothing but blue skies", some Tattered Angels chipboard letters and Making Memories Mini Alphas. Oh, and some autumnal felt for a bit of coziness. Did you know you get a free set of your choice and 25 $ for a publication using Unity? So generous and sweet of Angela! You'll find everything about it over at Splitcoaststampers.

On the second card I used October Afternoon stickers and Making Memories Tiny Alphas. The pencil is movable. No great photos here, I forgot to take better ones and the cards aren't back yet!

Ok, I hope you are all having a great Sunday! We are enjoying some sunshine, although it is very very cold in the nights. Thanks for visiting!

Hugs,
Vanessa
