Sunny Studio 5th Birthday Blog Hop

I will tell you about all the details and prizes at the bottom of this post, but first comes my card.

Mendi has come up with a wonderful new release and I loved playing with all the new goodies! Today I created a summer-winter-fusion birthday card for you:

I started with a slimline card base and inked the background with Distress Ink. Then I die-cut the Slimline Nature Borders, inked them and adhered them to the card. Now I stamped all the images, using the adorable new Surfing Santa along with the pineapples from Fabulous Flamingos and the palm trees from Sending Sunshine and Seasonal Trees. I colored everything with Copics, die-cut the elements with the matching dies and adhered the pieces to my card, popping-up some with foam tape. Lastly, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiments onto black and red cardstock and adhered the strips.

Isn't this Santa hilarious? I love this cute little set. Now to the fun details of today's blog hop.

Fall Shadowbox Card

Hello! After all the christmas cards I created lately, I was in the mood for a fall project, so I made a fun shadowbox card using adorable Hello Bluebird stamps and dies.

Love the colors of fall! I'll enter this to the current SSS Wednesday Challenge and the Hello Bluebird IG Challenge:

This gang is adorable, don't you agree? I colored the images with Copic markers, the background is inked with Distress Oxide inks.

We've been enjoying warm, sunny weather here with about 20°C - but next week the temperatures will drop and it might start snowing, so back to wintry projects then :)

Winnie & Walter Rerun: Winter Wonderland

Today, the Winnie & Walter team is inspiring you with new projects using the older set "Winter Wonderland". Oh, I so love this set! It is classic and super versatile. For today's card, I chose to combine watercolors and silver embossing:

I started with a panel of watercolor paper and stamped the large tree stamp, using Distress Inks spritzed with water. After it was dried, I stamped the deer and a sentiment from Merry & Bright with Evelin T Designs and heat-embossed them using silver embossing powder. Then I adhered my panel to a silver card base and finished the card off with sequins.

Watercolor Blog Hop

Hello everybody! I am back from our vacation in the South of England and enjoyed playing with my stamps again last night. Here comes a card I made for the Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Blog Hop:

I used Winnie & Walter stamps and dies for my card. The flowers are from In Bloom: Addie's Garden and the sentiment is from The Big, the Bold and Friends Cutaways. I started with a panel of watercolor paper and stamped the flower and the leaves, then I heat-embossed them with white pearl embossing powder. Now I used a water tank brush to wet the paper around the embossed areas. Then I applied the color. After it was dried, I adhered the panel to a card base. For the word, I inked a piece of cardstock with Versamark ink and heat-embossed it with the same embossing powder to die-cut my word from it. I adhered the word and finished the card off with sequins. Here is another look at the card:

More Yellow

Hey there! It's spring, I am happily digging in my garden, waiting impatiently for the flowers to bloom and I am in the mood for more yellow. So I created a card combining the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Spring Pinterest Inspiration and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge Springtime/Easter. I have a big, beautiful bunch of daffodils sitting next to my desk, so I created this card:

I started with a white cardbase and softly inked the background using light blue Distress Ink. Then I trimmed a panel of the same cardstock slightly smaller and die-cut the stitched circle from it. I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment to the bottom and adhered the panel to the card. Now I stamped and heat-embossed the daffodils from PTI's Year of Flowers set onto another piece of cardstock and colored them using Distress Inks mixed with water. I cut them out and adhered them to the card. Finally, I added clear sequins.

Gold Foiled Flowers and a Video

Hi everybody! Today I have a video for you. My sweet friend Isha Gupta made a video on how to use WOW Bonding Powder and Fab Foil to foil stamped images and I just had to get it to try it myself! I love using this technique. All you need is a cheap laminator, the bonding powder and the foil. The possibilities are endless. This is the card I made with this technique:

It's so difficult to capture all the glorious shine on the photo, but I really love the result! Instead of telling you how I did this, I'll show you in the video. It was supposed to be start-to-finish, but I grabbed the wrong SD-card, so it was full before I finished completely. But all the important stuff is in there. Here it is:
