Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Add a Sentiment

Hello to you! It's time for a new challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week's challenge is

ADD A SENTIMENT

We are showcasing Hero Arts products this time, but you don't have to use them to join.

This is my take on the challenge:

I first trimmed a panel from white cardstock and from rainbow patterned paper. Now I die-cut the large sentiment from the cardstock piece, layered the two panels and adhered them to a blue card base. I stamped the unicorns, colored them with Copics, fussy-cut the images and adhered them with foam tape. Then I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock, heat-embossed it with white embossing powder, trimmed it and adhered it. Finally, I added clear droplets.

Galaxy

Hey everybody! I wanted to make a card for my husband's 40th birthday and loved the galaxy cards I saw from various cardmakers. Here comes my take on the galaxy:

I inked a panel of watercolor paper using various Distress Inks and an ink blending tool. Then I added drops of pearlescent spray ink. After everything was dried, I stamped and foiled the stars and the hearts. (find a video on how I foil my stamped images here) 

Then I adhered the panel to a blue cardbase. I stamped the little aries onto another piece of cardstock, colored him with Copics an cut him out. Then I applied Wink of Stella to his horns and adhered him to the card with foam-tape.
I think the card was too cute for him. Considering it afterwards, it would have been better to just create the galaxy. But I couldn't help it :o)
I'll enter this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes".

Winnie & Walter A Week To Die For Day 1

Hi everyone! It's time for another fun week with Winnie & Walter! We wanted to highlight the new Cutaways (dies), so for you it means tons of inspiration over the next days. Today, we'll start with The Big, the Bold and Party Cutaways + The Big, the Bold and You Cutaways. This is my card:

What better set to combine with the word party than "The Party"? First I stamped the balloons using various inks. Then I inked a piece of cardstock with the same inks to create a gradient effect and die-cut the word "party" from The Big, the Bold and Party Cutaways and the little elements from Big Bang Confetti Cutaways. Now I adhered the die-cuts to the card. Finally I drew strings with a black marker and rounded the bottom right corner of my card.

Winnie & Walter January Release Day 2

Welcome back to day 2 of the Winnie & Walter January release! Today it's the premiere of Scenery: Stripes and some wonderful new dies! Let's get started:

On this card, I used the pinstripes from Scenery: Stripes and stamped them in a rainbow of colors. Then I trimmed my panel, and adhered a mat of black cardstock. I stamped the string for the balloon and adhered a balloon that I had stamped onto a piece of cardstock, inked and cut-out (the balloon is a sneak of a set coming later this week!). Now I adhered everything onto my cardbase. I had applied the same ink I used for the balloon to the bottom of the card. I die-cut the word "celebrate" and heat-embossed it with black glitter embossing powder. After I had adhered it, I finished the card off with some sequins.
And here is another card:

For the second card, I stamped the bold stripes directly onto my cardbase. I die-cut the "happy" and stamped the stripes again. Then I adhered the word with foam tape. I stamped the word "birthday", rounded the bottom left corner and adhered matching enamel dots.

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks Blog Hop

Welcome to the Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks Blog Hop!! You should have arrived from the wonderful Erin Schreiner.
Sigh. My heart has been very heavy ever since I received this email about Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine closing its doors. What?? My magazine??? Until that day, my crafting life has been consisting (among other things) of creating cards for magazine calls, waiting for happy acceptance emails, preparing accepted cards to make their journey over the pond and waiting for the magazines to hit the newsstands.  For 4 years. After about 250 published projects. All the people working there were so sweet. I got my daily dose of THE Susan Opel on Facebook, Instagram or the Paper Crafts Connection blog. The Go-To-Gals inspired us immensely. They brought us news from CHAs, the newest trends on the Moxie Fab World, showed the hottest products being released and everything else a paper crafter was looking for every day. Now this will be no more. The end of an era. To say thank you, to wish all the lovely people from PC&S all the best for their new adventures and to honor their work, we are doing this blog hop today. Here comes one of the last cards I did submit to the last ever PC&S submission call:

I used the My Favorite Things stamp set "You're Super". The chalkboard background was created using white embossing powder, white pigment ink and white pencil on black cardstock. The girl was die-cut and stamped onto white cardstock, then I colored her using Copics and gave her the mask that I die-cut from black cardstock. She is popped up with foam tape.
Dear PC&S ladies and Matt, I think you are super, awesome, unstoppable and I am sure your new adventures will be wonderful! Wishing you all the best!! Thank you for all the Gallery Idol competitions, the World Card Making Day celebrations, the endless inspiration in your magazines, for connecting paper crafters from all over the world, for making us feel special! Falling Leaves

I just came in from the garden. The leaves are falling already, so I thought I'd share another autumn card made with the new winnie & walter release:

I made it with A Tree for All Seasons. Such a versatile set! Starting with a white card stock panel , I stamped a row of leaves using various Hero Arts shadow inks. Then I stamped my sentiment and added some ink splatters from a mist bottle. Very easy and simple. I hope you like it!

Another One

I just couldn't resist creating one more card for the Lawnscaping Watercoloring Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. So here is another one :)

I love this cute little bear:

The sky was created with clear embossing powder, Hero Arts stamps and distress inks mixed with water. It has a bit of silvery shine because I added some pearlescent watercolor medium. The little hill and Mr. Bear were heat-embossed using black embossing powder and colored with distress inks. The sentiment says: You are special. I hope you like it!

A Rainbow of Hearts

The heart balloons are from the Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine set. I stamped them with various Hero Arts inks and added a matching sequin to each one. A simple one-layer card I enjoyed creating so much!

Sweet Summer

Sweet Summer. My favorite time of the year! I made a card for the little tangles challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:

Here it is:

Using Distress Inks, I stamped/masked the three images from an older Hero Arts set onto watercolor paper. Then I used a wet brush to create the watercolor effect. I added some splatters from an inked brush and let it dry. Then I printed the free digi sentiment from Neat & Tangled over the panel. So fun!

A Glittered Cupcake

I played with sequins again and created a glittered cupcake on this card:

The frosting was made with pink Ranger Stickles, then I simply "sprinkled" the sequins on top. Perfect, no messy adhering the sequins one by one. I made this for the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (you gotta have friends) :

Bokeh

Yesterday, I decided I'd like to create a card for the ABNH Bokeh challenge, the Guest Designer Search Contest for The Cutting Edge Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. So I combined all three of the challenges:

Here is the result:

I was inspired by the card in the middle at the bottom of the first graphic. First, I trimmed a piece of watercolor paper. Then I used the back of this stamp

to stamp my bokeh. Now I die-cut the hello from my panel and stamped the friend from the same stamp set. Onto the background panel, I applied some Versamark ink and heat-embossed the area behind the negative die-cut with black glitter embossing powder. Then I assembled the card, added sequins and die-cut a cute bow from pp to adhere for a little fun detail. I hope you like it!

A Cute Robot

Hello from hot, sunny Germany with a cute robot card. I am waiting for my longingly awaited Sherlock series to continue tonight, so I thought I'd write a post to distract myself a bit. One hour to go before The Sign of Three is being aired here. But enough of this, here comes another card for the current Simon Says Wednesday Challenge (masculine) and the Lawnscaping Challenge #83.

A robot birthday card:

I used the adorable set Beep Boop Birthday for this. First, I stamped various images and sentiments onto my background and distressed the edges with Distress Ink and the mini ink blending tool. Then I stamped my focal image, the string and the sentiment. Mr Robot was stamped onto white cardstock and colored with copics. Then I fussy-cut him and adhered parts of him with foam tape. He got a bit of shine with Wink of Stella. Then I stamped and heat-embossed my balloon thrice, using clear embossing powder. It was cut out and adhered with foam tape, too.
The metallic dots from Hero Arts dressed the little robot up perfectly:

I hope you like Mr Robot as much as I do! I can't help but sing the song in my head: "domo arigato, mr roboto" every time I see him :o)

A Cute Wedding Card

Today I am sharing a cute wedding card. I wanted to play with the ME Pandamonium set, so I made another card for the ABNH embossing challenge:

For the background, I first stamped and embossed the Hero Arts chevron heart with clear embossing powder onto white cardstock. Then I applied water to the paper and added some drops of pink spray mist (like I did in this video). The pandas are dressed up with accessories from the Honey Bunny set. I hope you like it!

Wonderful Peonies

I was inspired by my wonderful peonies, so this is the second post of the day! For the winnie & walter premiere click here.

I just had to get out my Hero Arts Flower Background stamp, because of my wonderful dark peonies:

They are in full bloom at the moment, making my little heart jump for joy everytime I enter our garden. So I made a card using another Hero Arts sketch (Sketch #2) and some embossing to enter this to the ABNH challenge, too:

First, I die-cut a tag from vellum using the Hero Arts Large Tag die. Then I embossed it with the Medallion embossing folder and adhered it to the card. I use a special vellum adhesive runner to do this. Now I stamped my Large Flower Background onto white cardstock. I chose one of the gorgeous flowers, colored it with watercolor pencils and fussy-cut it. It's difficult to capture on the photo, but I applied some Wink of Stella onto the petals. The flower is adhered with foam tape. I needed a German sentiment, so I printed one onto vellum and fussy-cut that, too.

winnie & walter Premiere of Scenery: Rectangled & Triangled

Welcome to the winnie & walter premiere of Scenery: Rectangled & Triangled! I tell you, I had so much fun with these new stamps, I had to stop myself from creating more and more! Today's set is just so versatile. Let's take a look at the cards I made with it:

On the first card, I happily played around with the bold rectangle and just stamped it onto my panel using soft pink, bubblegum pink and pool. Then I heat-embossed three rectangles using gold embossing powder for a little more shine and glamour. The sentiment is made from words from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy set.

Next is a happy rainbow card. Can't have enough of those! I used the scribbled rectangle and stamped the border with various inks. Then I added my sentiment from the upcoming The Big, the Bold and Fun set. To add some shine, I adhered matching little sequins.

On the third card, I used various of those trendy triangles. After I had stamped the triangles and the hello from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy set, I wanted to find a matching cardstock or pp to mat my panel. I couldn't find one, so I made my own. I just stamped the bold rectangle around the edge of my cardstock mat in the same colors I used for the triangles and had the perfect mat.

Inspired by Jennifer McGuire

For this card, I was inspired by my paper crafting idol Jennifer McGuire. The current challenge over at A Blog Named Hero is: Inspired by a Hero Artist and this is the card I made for it:

I used the ink splatter technique from this video. I first stamped the Hero Arts Lattice background onto a white cardstock panel and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before using the technique shown in the video. Because they are featuring Mama Elephant on A Blog Named Hero, I used some dies from them. The dies are covered with black glitter embossing powder like Jennifer showed in this video.

Two Pubs

I haven't been sharing my pubs for a while, so I thought I'd share two pubs today. First is a card from the Stamp It! Techniques, Vol. 2:

Here I used the washi tape as starting point for the design of the card. The triangles are the half of a diamond shaped die from Hero Arts. This issue is available here.

A Foxy Baby Card

This time I played with my beloved Hero Arts stamps and made a foxy baby card:

I colored the fox with my Faber Castell watercolor pencils again. Using the Sketchbook Letters stamp set, I spelled my sentiment. And the border is from the Calico Borders set. This card was made for three challenges. Must be my own personal record! First, I used Sketch #3 of the current Hero Arts Spring Sketch Challenge. Second, I used the handwriting font to enter this to the Moxie Fab World Hip on Handwriting Challenge. And last, the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is Anything Goes, so I'll enter it there, too! Phew.
