Masked Word + Watercolors

Hello! Today I have a card using a fun technique that I showed in this video. I made the card for two Simon Says Stamp challenges. The SSS Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes" and the SSS Flickr Challenge "Your Favorite Technique". There are a lot of techniques I love to use, but masking happens quite often. So I chose this one for this card:

I die-cut the word from painter's tape and adhered it to the card. Then I applied Distress Inks with a lot of water for the background. The bear and the balloon from the MFT Birdie Brown set "Birthday Bears" were colored with Copics. I hope you like it!

Thanks for visiting!

Premiere of Scenery: V for cheVron

Welcome to the last day of winnie & walter premieres with the premiere of Scenery: V for cheVron! Yes, this is another gorgeous, versatile set! I made two cards with it:

For the first card, I used the huge solid chevron stamp. Love that it covers a whole card front! The speech bubble and the sentiment are from the previously released Bubble Talk set. On the next card, I used the small chevron row:

I like to combine patterned paper with stamps to create a completely new look. The sentiment is from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy.
I hope you like my cards! Be sure to check out what the other girls did with this set on the winnie & walter blog today. And don't forget to enter the big give-away, too!
All stamps will be available tomorrow! Have fun shopping!

Share the Love Week: Distress Inks (stencils/masks)

And I am back with my project for day four of the winnie & walter share the love week featuring Distress Inks by Ranger. For today's card, I used a stencil:

I can never get enough of rainbow cards, can you? I used a stencil from Studio Calico, adhered it to my cardstock panel with painter's tape and inked the chevrons up with my Mini Ink Blending Tool using Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks. Then I used the same colors to stamp sequins from the Scenery: Big Bang Bling set. For the sentiment, I stamped and heat-embossed the happy from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy using black glitter embossing powder. Then I cut it out. After I had stamped the birthday from the same set, I arranged a bit of string and adhered the happy with foam tape. The perfect touch of bling was added with some cute matching sequins. I hope you like it!
Now hop to the winnie & walter blog and leave your comment for your chance to win an awesome prize! Thanks for visiting!

Share the Love Week: Distress Inks (resist)

On day three of the winnie & walter share the love week featuring Distress Inks by Ranger, we are showing resist techniques. Here is my card:

I arranged words and small images from Bubble Talk and The Write Stuff: Picture Perfect onto a large acrylic block. Then I stamped it onto my cardstock panel and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Now I used my mini ink blending tool and applied Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Ink in circular motions. Then I added ink splatters from a silver spray mist. To finish the card off, I inked three wood veneer cameras with Black Soot ink for some contrast and adhered them together with sweet sequins.
Now it's your turn! Check out the details on how to win a lovely prize on the winnie & walter blog! Happy inking and thanks for visiting!

A Masculine Card

I made a masculine card for the current Avery Elle Challenge...

...using my Modern Leaves stamp set:

I heat-embossed the large scribbled leaf onto patterned paper and punched out circles from this and other pps. After I had inked all edges, I adhered them to a kraft cardstock panel. The "hello" is from the same set and also heat-embossed with white embossing powder. I inked the edges of my panel and machine-stitched some messy seams. Then I adhered the panel to my cardbase and added some ink drops. Finally I adhered the wood veneer. I hope you like it!

Thanks for visiting!

Inspired by Jennifer McGuire

For this card, I was inspired by my paper crafting idol Jennifer McGuire. The current challenge over at A Blog Named Hero is: Inspired by a Hero Artist and this is the card I made for it:

I used the ink splatter technique from this video. I first stamped the Hero Arts Lattice background onto a white cardstock panel and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before using the technique shown in the video. Because they are featuring Mama Elephant on A Blog Named Hero, I used some dies from them. The dies are covered with black glitter embossing powder like Jennifer showed in this video.

Using a Stencil

Happy Sunday to you! I am back with a card using a stencil on the background. I'd like to enter this to Virginia's View Challenge #2 and the Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge:

I first cut a panel from white cardstock, layed the Studio Calico stencil over it (just to the top left corner) and used some washi to keep it in place. Then I used sponges to apply various distress inks to create this gradient look. After removing the stencil and adhering the panel to a card base with foam tape, I die-cut the Paper Smooches Hello from black cardstock and adhered this with tiny bits of foam tape. Very simple!

Have a great rest of the weekend everybody! Thanks for  visiting!

Winnie & Walter Second Release Projects

Here I am with my projects using the new stamps and cutting files from Winnie & Walter's second release. The stamps are amazing again! I enjoyed playing with them and this post contains a lot of cards so let's better get started!
First, a card using The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mom. I loved the beautiful silhouette in this set, perfect to  create an elegant card:

The next two cards were made with The Write Stuff: Leave it to Dad. There is this gorgeous male silhouette I had to use:

And then I wanted to play with the small words describing Dad. I created rays using various distress inks and a sponge...

…to stamp the words into the rays. Here is the result:

Now comes a card using Parentville. I thought it would be fun to paper-piece the shoes. Aargh, very difficult. But I like the result, so it was worth it in the end:

Finally, two cards made with The Big, the Bold and You. I was so happy when Julie and Shay told us about another "The Big, the Bold and…" set! On the first card I used one of the cut files and added dots from Scenery: Big Bang Confetti:

And the very last card for today:

Here I heat-embossed the word with white embossing powder onto blue cardstock and stamped it again with white ink to create the shadow. Then I just cut around it to adhere it to the card. The second part of the sentiment is from Parentville again. I masked the thanks before inking it.
There you have it. Fabulous stamps. Now all you have to do is buy them all :)

Have a great day everybody! And thanks for visiting!

A Week In Life

I hope you had a wonderful, sunny day! We had - it felt good to work in the garden without a coat. Today I have another layout that I made with the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer collection again:

Ich hoffe Ihr hattet einen wundervollen, sonnigen Tag! Wir schon - es fühlte sich so toll an, ohne Jacke im Garten zu werkeln. Heute habe ich noch ein Layout das ich mit der Dear Lizzy Daydreamer Serie gemacht habe:

Those are some photos of last week. Just the ordinary chaos. I am still not sure about the project life thing. Love it, but I fear I would not be able to keep up. But I think that this kind of layout is a good alternative. The elements in the Daydreamer line are so fun, I really enjoy working with it!
Thanks for visiting!

Wild Things

Today I have a layout about wild things. There is a little park close to our home, where you can feed deer and wild boars, so on a sunny day we sometimes go there for a walk:

Heute hab ich ein Layout über Wilde Dinger. Es gibt in unserer Nähe ein Wildtiergehege in dem man Rehe und Wildschweine füttern kann und an manch sonnigem Tag gehen wir dort spazieren:

It didn't turn out as I was planning it. I was almost finished and just wanted to add some stamped accents. So what's the best finishing touch? Any guesses? Yes - just drop an open ink pad face down onto your almost finished layout. SO me! I had to improvise and that's why there are some strange wood circles in the bottom left corner. Sigh. Trying to recall my inner Bob Ross: No mistakes. Only happy little accidents.
Thanks for visiting!

Seufz. Immer schön an meinen inneren Bob Ross denken: Es gibt keine Fehler. Nur fröhliche kleine Unfälle.

Hello

Here comes my take on the SSS Wednesday Challenge: Everything Goes With Pearls. Alyssa's take is here. I played around with watercolors, so I will enter this to Virginia's new challenge, too:

Hier kommt meine Karte für die SSS Wednesday Challenge: Alles geht mit Perlen. Alyssas Karten findet Ihr hier. Ich habe mit Aquarellen herumgespielt, also wird meine Karte auch bei Virginias neuem Challenge teilnehmen:

I masked the panel of watercolor paper with washi and applied my watercolors. The word die-cut was colored with them, too. I tried to achieve a gradient look.
Thanks for visiting!

Here comes a very sunny layout:

Hier kommt ein sehr sonniges Layout:

I used supplies from the SBW Marchkit again. The sun was created with watercolors. I typed the text with my typewriter and stamped the happys from Winnie & Walter's The Big, the Bold, and the Happy.
Thanks for visiting!

The Big, the Bold, and the Happy dazugestempelt.

Birthday Card

And here is another birthday card made with the SBW March Kit Sternstunde. Love this Heidi Swapp pp:

Und hier ist noch eine Geburtstagskarte mit dem SBW Märzkit Sternstunde. Ich mag dieses Heidi Swapp pp so gerne:

The sentiment was created with a Dymo label maker. The delicious Lawn Fawn cake was stamped, slightly inked with Distress Ink to match the paper and topped with a glitter frosting. The kit contains a yummy roll of silver glitter washi. I adhered a strip of washi to vellum and die-cut the stars from it. Then I just adhered the stars like stickers.
Thanks for stopping by today!

In the Mood for a Rainbow

I felt the urge to create something colorful, I was in the mood for a rainbow. So I pulled out various supplies, mostly from my SC kits, and started a layout. Here comes the result:

Ich hatte das Bedürfnis, etwas farbenfrohes zu machen, ich war in Stimmung für einen Regenbogen. Also habe ich verschiedene Materialien rausgezogen, das meisste von meinen SC Kits, und hab mit einem Layout angefangen. Hier ist das Ergebnis:
