winnie & walter August Release Tour of the Stars

Welcome to the winnie & walter August Release Tour of the Stars!! For this release, everything is a bit different, because this release is different! You will love the new sets. The are so big! Every set is 6 x 8.  And they are very versatile and full of lovely elements. On tonight's tour, you'll be able to win prizes, so be sure to leave comments on the blogs! But now, let's get started. I am showing you one card for each stamp set today, but I made a lot more and will show them another day.

For my first card, I used Moonlight and the matching cutting files. I placed the face onto the pumpkin
before cutting it from white card stock. Then I used an Ink Blending Tool and Distress Inks to color it. Afterwards, I adhered black card stock behind the face before placing it onto my patterned paper. Don't you love the font of the haunting in the sentiment? This stamp set has so many great elements and the cutting files are great, too!

My second card uses A Tree for All Seasons. It's so versatile! Here I created my own patterned paper with a single leaf stamp. On the cluster, I used the coordinating cutting file to cut some leaves. The sentiment is from the same set, I just trimmed it after I had stamped it to tuck it in behind my burlap button.

On the last card, made with This Awesome House, I did a lot of paper-piecing. I found this brick patterned paper in my Maggie Holmes paper pad and thought it would make a perfect brick house. After paper-piecing everything, I colored the windows, the door and the roof with copics. Then I stamped the little cat and added a little red bow to the door.

Ok, a wonderful release, don't you think? I can't wait to see what all the other girls did with it. I am the last stop of the tour. Here comes the full list of designers:

Happy hopping, good luck and thanks for stopping by!

winnie & walter News!

Today I am here to share some winnie & walter news! I am so honored to be on the team with these amazingly talented girls:

Check out the winnie & walter blog to read more about our new team!
And I have a little card for you, too:

I used the rose from The Big, the Bold and Extras for this little card that I made for a sweet colleague. It says "you are special", because she is one to help, not to look away like all the others do. She has a wonderful attitude and deserved a little something. The rose was heat-embossed using clear embossing powder, then I mixed a pink gelato with water and colored the rose with it. Afterwards,  I cut it out and adhered it onto my card with foam tape. The matching envelope was made with a piece of cute Dear Lizzy pp and my envelope punch board. I'll enter this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes".
Thanks for visiting!

winnie & walter Premiere of Scenery: Big Bang Bling + The Big, the Bold and Fun

Welcome to the winnie & walter premiere of Scenery: Big Bang Bling + The Big, the Bold and Fun! Tomorrow, these amazing new sets will be available for purchase! Here are the last of my samples:

The Big, the Bold and Fun contains a lot of wonderful words to create travel-themed, vacation-themed, summer-themed projects. Here I stamped the word "adventure" around the edges, making it very subtle and keeping the trailer and the sentiment the focal point. I'll shamelessly enter this to this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge :)

On this card, I combined both of today's sets.

And another card combining both sets. I first stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment and the sequins using a clear, sparkling embossing powder. Then I inked my panel with Peacock Feather Distress Ink and a mini ink blending tool, trying to achieve a gradient look.

The last project is a layout about my daughter having fun with water. Again, I used both sets for this.

I hope you liked all the projects with the new winnie & walter stamps! Leave a comment on the winnie & walter blog for your chance to win them! And remember, the stamps will be available tomorrow, May 25! Thank you so much for visiting and for your sweet comments!

winnie & walter Premiere of Bubble Talk + The Write Stuff: Picture Perfect

Welcome to the winnie & walter premiere of Bubble Talk + The Write Stuff: Picture Perfect!

These are two super cute sets! Here are my samples:

A girl can dream of a flower patterned camera, right? I colored the camera with watercolor pencils and paper-pieced it with pp from Dear Lizzy.

Oh, and how about a pink polka dot camera? You see, I love this image :)
It is paper-pieced again and it just needed a little bow. The sentiment is from the Bubble Talk set.

Here everything I used is from Bubble Talk. I just stamped the speech bubbles in various shades of green and blue. Easy and so fun to do!

For this card, I wanted to try making vellum speech bubbles and decided to make it white-on-white with just a touch of gold. And the last card for today:

I thought it would be fun to create patterned speech bubbles. I used The Big, the Bold and Extras for this.
I hope you liked today's premiere! Don't forget to leave a comment on the winnie & walter blog for your chance to win the sets! See you tomorrow for the last premiere!

winnie & walter Premiere of Scenery: Rectangled & Triangled

Welcome to the winnie & walter premiere of Scenery: Rectangled & Triangled! I tell you, I had so much fun with these new stamps, I had to stop myself from creating more and more! Today's set is just so versatile. Let's take a look at the cards I made with it:

On the first card, I happily played around with the bold rectangle and just stamped it onto my panel using soft pink, bubblegum pink and pool. Then I heat-embossed three rectangles using gold embossing powder for a little more shine and glamour. The sentiment is made from words from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy set.

Next is a happy rainbow card. Can't have enough of those! I used the scribbled rectangle and stamped the border with various inks. Then I added my sentiment from the upcoming The Big, the Bold and Fun set. To add some shine, I adhered matching little sequins.

On the third card, I used various of those trendy triangles. After I had stamped the triangles and the hello from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy set, I wanted to find a matching cardstock or pp to mat my panel. I couldn't find one, so I made my own. I just stamped the bold rectangle around the edge of my cardstock mat in the same colors I used for the triangles and had the perfect mat.

Ok, I hope you liked my samples! Now be sure to hop to the winnie & walter blog to enter your name for a chance to win this amazing set and to see what my super talented DT colleagues made with it!
Thanks for visiting today, I hope you'll come back tomorrow for the second set to be released!

Two Pubs

I haven't been sharing my pubs for a while, so I thought I'd share two pubs today. First is a card from the Stamp It! Techniques, Vol. 2:

I used various Hero Arts stamps and inks. The technique here is masking. The magazine is available here
The second card is published in the special issue Practical Solutions for Paper Crafters, Vol. 2:

Here I used the washi tape as starting point for the design of the card. The triangles are the half of a diamond shaped die from Hero Arts. This issue is available here.
Have a happy day everybody and thanks for visiting!

A Mother's Day Card

Here in Germany, we will celebrate Mother's Day this Sunday. I needed a Mother's Day card, so I made one using Avery Elle stamps. I'll enter it to their current Avery Elle AEI♥U Challenge #6 Mother's Day:

Can't stop using gold. Love how elegant it is. I used the Modern Leaves set to heat-emboss some leaves onto vellum. They are tucked behind the flower. On the background panel, I used Ikat Additions and embossed the image repeatedly with gold embossing powder.
Thanks for visiting!

Two Layouts

I am sharing two layouts today. The first one is a grid layout using the Webster's Pages/Adrienne Looman Our Travels collection:

These are some photos from our trip to a wildlife park last year. So fun and full of new adventures for my girl. I started with those square cards from a piece of pp from that collection and just printed the photos the same size. Easy and great to get a lot of photos onto a layout.
The next layout has been sitting here for a while. I made it last month with the Crate Styleboard collection, but I just couldn't manage to get a great photo of it. Now I gave up. Here it is:

I was inspired by Wilna's video, using watercolors with rub-ons. The gold rub-ons of the collection are so pretty!
Ok, that's it for today. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Some Ideas for Using Big, Bold Word Stamps (Video)

Happy Friday! I recently played around with my beloved Winnie & Walter stamps and thought I'd make a video on how to create a watercolor/handwritten look with the stamps. Here are some ideas for using big, bold word stamps:

On the first card, I created a background with ombre hellos. Don't you love this look?
Here comes another card:

Here I used a very simple technique to create the colorful happy. And a last card:

Even simpler. I wanted to achieve the look of the words written with a fountain pen. Check out the video to see how I did it. And sorry for the blurry parts! And the stammering - I had to be quick with the cat hopping onto the keyboard and my girl playing next to me…

Hope you like it! Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

My Sweet Ballerina

Today I am sharing a layout about my sweet ballerina. I used the Glitz line Carpe Diem, a very pretty collection with soft colors:

She loves her ballet lessons and is always very excited when we go there.
I'll enter this to the Glitz March challenge.

Another Daydreamer Layout

*please note: due to shipping delays, I wasn't able to create samples for the new Winnie & Walter release, but the festivities are in full swing, so please check it out here!!!*

I can't help it, playing with this line is so much fun so I made another Daydreamer layout:

My poor girl can never be sure when her silly Mama is fooling around :)
Hope you like it! And that my post is showing up. Blogger seems to have problems at the moment.
Have a wonderful day!

Mein armes Kind ist nie sicher vorm Quatsch ihrer Mama :)
Ich hoffe Euch gefällt es. Und dass dieser Post überhaupt funktioniert. Blogger scheint im Moment Probleme zu haben.
Habt einen wunderschönen Tag!

Origami Card

For today's card I mixed the new Mama Elephant Origami set with the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer line:

My mother recently brought us my old origami books, so I just had to get this set! And the happy Daydreamer pp simply is a perfect partner.
Thanks for visiting!

A Week In Life

I hope you had a wonderful, sunny day! We had - it felt good to work in the garden without a coat. Today I have another layout that I made with the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer collection again:

Those are some photos of last week. Just the ordinary chaos. I am still not sure about the project life thing. Love it, but I fear I would not be able to keep up. But I think that this kind of layout is a good alternative. The elements in the Daydreamer line are so fun, I really enjoy working with it!
Thanks for visiting!

Daydreamer

I am the luckiest paper crafting girl this month! I am allowed to play with the new Dear Lizzy Daydreamer collection for SBW. This is a first layout I made:

I love the quote on the balloon: Fill Your Heart With What's Important. I am working on this point. You see, I have difficulties with clearing my mind. I am the type of girl that keeps thinking and thinking everything over. A nasty person treated me unkindly and I keep thinking of it all the time. I has been on my mind for days - instead of concentrating on the happy things, this person keeps crawling into my mind when I don't want to. Sometimes I wish I had a pensieve like Dumbledore, to take my memories out of my head for a while or watch them from outside to get a better perspective. But enough of blah! Don't you love this colorful collection? Get it here! I am in love.
Thanks for visiting!

Sweet Spring - PTI February 2014 Blog Hop Challenge

Oh, are you in the mood for spring? I am! We didn't have a real winter here, and honestly, I didn't miss anything. Can't wait for spring to arrive! So the PTI February Blog Hop Challenge was the perfect excuse to create a spring card.

Sweet. Don't you just love every single square of that mood board? Here comes my card, I chose to use a daffodil image, because I've been having bunches of them in a vase on my table:

The background was created with some left-over watercolor and pearlescent medium. Then I heat-embossed the flower with white embossing powder and colored it with watercolors. The cute pp that is peeking out on the left side is from the AC Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection.
Thanks for visiting and sunny greetings from Germany!

Happy Scrappy Friends Blog Hop

zeigen.

Sharing One Of Last Year's Pubs

As I don't have a new card I am allowed to show you yet, I thought I'd share one of last year's pubs. This card was in a CARDS Magazine last year:

Most supplies were from a SC kit, the thank you is an Hero Arts stamp.

So Proud

Last year, we went to a wildlife park. They have elks, ibex, wolves, lynxes etc. And on a huge meadow there was a falconer showing owls, hawks, vultures etc. A lot of people were watching in a circle around the falconer. Then he asked if there was a child who would like to help him with the barn owl. Guess who was the first child to run into the circle putting her hand up? My girl. One of the youngest kids watching. I was so surprised about her courage and almost burst with pride :)
Here comes a layout about it:

I love to be able to do my journaling with my typewriter because of this size of the layout.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting!
