But enough talking for now, let's get to my card :)
Two weeks ago, I read that because of the many sun eruptions it would be possible to eventually see aurora borealis in our region. Unfortunately, it rained all the time, so we couldn't see anything. But it inspired me to create my own aurora borealis background on this card!
I first masked off the bottom part of a white cardstock panel. Then I applied Distress Inks with an ink blending tool. I added white droplets with a brush and let everything dry. Now I removed the mask and stamped the hole. I colored the inside to make it look like a reflection of the sky and adhered the panel to the card.
Next, I stamped the cute husky and the present, colored the images with Copics and die-cut them with the matching dies. After I had adhered them to the card with foam tape, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it.

Awesome AB sky and adorable scene!!! Yes there have been a number of solar storms and auroras lately...but I didn't get to see them, either....sometimes because of clouds and sometimes because of smoke from wildfires. :( One time, though, when the smoke was so incredibly thick that I could actually safely look at the sun through binoculars, I could see the gigantic sunspots that were the source of the displays. That was AMAZING to directly observe those humongous sunspots!!

Hi Vanessa ~ As soon as I saw your card, before reading your text, I thought how beautifully you captured the aurora borealis. I used to live in Alaska and one of the things I miss most are the opportunities we had to watch those beautiful Northern Lights. They truly are amazing and your use of the Distress Inks is spot on.
